About Consensys & MetaMask

As part of Consensys, you’ll work on MetaMask — a core product in Consensys’ portfolio — while benefiting from the scale, culture, and mission of the broader organization.

MetaMask is evolving

What began as the world’s leading self-custodial crypto wallet is becoming something bigger: a global consumer platform for managing digital value, designed to make saving, earning, moving, and using money more open, flexible, and accessible.

Built on crypto rails but designed for everyday use, MetaMask is helping define a new category of consumer experience — one that gives people more control over their money while remaining simple, intuitive, and globally accessible.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Director of Product Marketing to help shape the next phase of MetaMask’s evolution into a broader consumer finance platform.

This role will focus on defining how MetaMask introduces new, everyday money experiences to a global audience — while maintaining MetaMask’s core values of self-custody and user ownership.

This is a 0→1, build role. You’ll set strategy, define positioning, and personally drive go-to-market execution as MetaMask expands into new use cases and markets.

What You’ll DoDefine product marketing strategy for the phase for MetaMask
  • Shape the positioning, narrative, and go-to-market approach for new consumer finance experiences
  • Help evolve MetaMask’s perception from “wallet” to a broader consumer platform for managing digital value
  • Translate complex technical and financial concepts into clear, trusted, consumer-friendly stories
Drive adoption, engagement, and retention
  • Partner closely with Growth and Analytics teams to identify new audience segments and expansion opportunities
  • Design GTM strategies across the full product lifecycle, from early launches through scaled adoption
  • Focus on measurable outcomes such as user growth, engagement, retention, and monetization
Partner deeply with Product and Engineering
  • Work hand-in-hand with Product leaders to shape launch strategy, sequencing, and communication
  • Advocate for user needs, clarity, and trust throughout the product development process
  • Influence cross-functional decision-making without formal authority
Build foundations for scale
  • Establish product marketing frameworks, systems, and operating rhythms for a growing product area
  • Coach and develop a Product Marketing Manager and help define how the function scales over time
  • Balance hands-on execution with leadership as the team grows
Connect MetaMask to culture and global markets
  • Help ensure MetaMask resonates across diverse global audiences, including emerging and high-growth markets
  • Stay closely connected to broader fintech, crypto, and consumer technology trends to inform positioning and GTM strategy
What We’re Looking ForYou’ll bring
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Consumer Marketing, or related roles
  • Proven experience leading product marketing for consumer-facing financial or transactional products
  • Demonstrated ability to define strategy independently and execute hands-on when needed
  • Strong cross-functional credibility with Product, Growth, and Engineering teams
  • Experience operating in ambiguity and building GTM strategies before the category or playbook is fully defined
Strongly preferred
  • Experience at a fintech, neobank, or consumer platform with embedded financial features
  • Exposure to international or emerging markets
  • Experience repositioning a product into a broader platform or ecosystem
  • Background in customer insights, user research, or data-informed marketing strategy
Not required
  • Prior crypto or web3 experience
(We value strong consumer finance judgment — crypto fluency can be learned.)
How You’ll Succeed Here

You’re someone who:

  • Is equally analytical and creative
  • Can make confident decisions with incomplete information
  • Understands that trust and clarity are foundational to consumer finance experiences
  • Brings executive presence without ego
  • Pushes teams forward while remaining deeply collaborative
  • Thrives in fast-moving, evolving environments
Why Join Consensys
  • Help shape the future of consumer finance at global scale
  • Work on products that redefine how people interact with and control digital value
  • Join a mission-driven, deeply technical team building foundational infrastructure for the next era of the internet
  • Opportunity to grow into broader leadership as the function scales

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
