Role Summary:

The Director of Product Management is a leader responsible for defining and executing product strategy for one or more Babel Street use cases (e.g., Global & Event Threats, Identity Risk, Business/Vendor Risk). The role partners closely with the SVP of Product Management to translate company strategy, market insights, and customer needs into a clear product vision and prioritized roadmap—communicating strategic direction to key stakeholders throughout the company. This leader ensures Babel Street focuses on and builds products that customers need, value, and adopt—while advancing the company’s strategic and commercial objectives.

As a Director, this role balances strategic leadership with hands-on product ownership, serving as the connective tissue between customers, Go-to-Market teams, and Engineering.

This is a hybrid role based out of either our Reston, VA or Somerville, MA office,

What You Will Do:

Product Strategy & Vision

  • In coordination with the SVP Product Management, define and evolve product vision and multihorizon roadmaps aligned with Babel Street’s “North Star” corporate strategy.
  • Conduct ongoing market, customer, and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and emerging threats.
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear product outcomes, success metrics, and priorities.

Customer & Market Leadership

  • Build deep, ongoing relationships with customers to understand use cases, pain points, and unmet needs.
  • Ensure product direction is grounded in real-world customer workflows, mission outcomes, and market needs/gaps.
  • Represent the voice of the customer across Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Leadership.

Roadmap Ownership & Execution

  • Own and prioritize the product P&L and roadmap (defining the “What”, “Why”, and “When”) in partnership with Engineering (responsible for the “How”), balancing customer value, technical feasibility, and business impact.
  • Work closely with Engineering leaders to sequence work, manage dependencies, and remove blockers—without becoming a proxy delivery manager.
  • Ensure roadmap commitments are realistic, outcome-focused, and aligned with Go-to-Market plans.

Corporate Partnership

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing on positioning, messaging, pricing, and launch strategy.
  • Support major deals and strategic opportunities with product insight, customer context, and competitive landscape.
  • Communicate product direction clearly and credibly at all levels of the organization.
  • Provide assistance and mentoring to others in Product Management.

What You Will Bring:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience is mandatory for this role (e.g., experience with Global & Event Threats, Identity Risk, Business/Vendor Risk, OSINT, etc., with a preference for Identity Risk)
  • 5+ years of progressive Product Management experience, including ownership of complex SaaS products (engineering, product management, interaction with/understanding of multiple stakeholder groups)
  • Proven ability to perform strategic assessments and use findings to define vision and direction
  • Experience with Agile software development and relevant software (Jira, Mira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships
  • Experience as a Software Engineer
  • Knowledge of NLP, AI/ML (including Generative AI & LLMs), entity/identity resolution
  • Prefer experience driving or leading rapid prototyping, technical simulations, or past involvement with application development
