DIRECTV is redefining how millions of customers engage with digital self-service, care, and commerce. We are seeking a senior product leader who blends portfolio-level strategy, financial rigor, and customer obsession with strong people leadership and execution discipline.

This role carries the formal scope and accountability of a Director, Product Management, while the actual work is deeply focused on portfolio strategy, investment modeling, and experience-led prioritization. You will operate at the intersection of product, data and finance, shaping where DIRECTV invests—and why.

If you thrive in ambiguity, enjoy influencing executives with data and narrative, and want to build strategies that translate into real customer and business impact, this role offers rare breadth and visibility.

Here's what you’ll do:

Portfolio Strategy & Investment Leadership

  • Own and evolve a multi-year portfolio investment strategy for DIRECTV Digital Services, balancing near-term ROI with long-term customer experience transformation.
  • Identify, size, and prioritize high-impact opportunities across self-service, care, and digital journeys using customer insights, financial modeling, and performance data.
  • Partner with Finance to build forecasting and return models that guide capital allocation and roadmap decisions.
  • Define and track portfolio-level success metrics tied to customer outcomes, cost efficiency, and business growth.
  • Maintain a forward-looking view of competitive dynamics, emerging digital capabilities, and industry trends.

Product & Program Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of product strategists, data scientists and analysts, setting clear direction while empowering autonomy and innovation.
  • Translate portfolio strategy into 6 – 12 month roadmaps and executable plans across multiple products and platforms.
  • Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle execution, ensuring investments deliver measurable value.
  • Establish consistent governance, prioritization frameworks, and operating rhythms across initiatives.
  • Represent Digital portfolio initiatives in enterprise forums, influencing senior leadership and advocating for continued investment.

Cross-Functional Influence

  • Act as a connective leader across Product, UX, Marketing, Customer Care, Engineering, IT, and Finance.
  • Simplify complex problems into clear narratives and decision frameworks that align diverse stakeholders.
  • Champion a data-centric, experimentation-driven culture that continuously improves outcomes at scale.

Organizational Leadership & Operations

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and operational extension of the AVP, Digital Strategy, helping drive alignment and execution across the organization.
  • Set departmental strategy with minimal oversight, making decisions that materially impact customer experience and business performance.
  • Build and maintain scalable operating artifacts—dashboards, templates, playbooks, and metrics—to ensure transparency and accountability.

What you’ll bring:

Experience & Background

  • 5 – 7 years required, 7+ years desired of progressive experience in product management, portfolio strategy, or digital strategy, including senior leadership responsibility.
  • Proven success leading high-performing product or strategy teams in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong track record of data-driven decision making, financial analysis, and investment prioritization.
  • Experience defining and managing KPI’s for executive audiences
  • Background in digital services, media, advertising, or large-scale consumer platforms is strongly preferred.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Exceptional strategic thinking paired with pragmatic execution discipline.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high ambiguity, synthesizing inputs into clear direction.
  • Advanced storytelling and communication skills, especially with executive audiences.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of how product decisions drive enterprise outcomes.
  • Comfortable using analytics and modeling tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Google Analytics) to inform strategy.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.

Why This Role Is Compelling:

  • Enterprise-level impact: Your decisions shape where DIRECTV invests millions of dollars annually.
  • Strategic visibility: Regular engagement with senior executives and cross-company leaders.
  • Real ownership: You are not managing a backlog—you are defining the “why” behind the work.
  • Customer scale: Influence experiences used by millions of customers nationwide.
  • Modern product culture: Data-driven, experience-led, and outcome-focused.

May require a background check due to job duties requiring routine access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer’s proprietary data. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction will be considered for employment in accordance with local ordinances and state law.

This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the contiguous United States. #LI-Remote

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
