About PushPress

PushPress is building the Intelligent Industry Ledger for boutique fitness.

We’re transforming how boutique gyms operate — and how the entire $100B fitness industry connects, transacts, and grows. Trusted by 5,000+ gyms and 500,000+ members, PushPress processes over $500M annually and is backed by Altos Ventures and Mucker Capital.

We're evolving from a traditional business system of record into an AI-powered Industry Ledger — an intelligent infrastructure layer that brings order to a highly fragmented boutique fitness industry. By unifying disconnected operators, workflows, and data into a single platform, we’re enabling faster decisions, new business models, cross-gym collaboration, and network effects that increase the value of every studio in our client base.

We’re a global team of builders, operators, and fitness fanatics on a mission to level the playing field for fitness entrepreneurs. If you're ready to help reshape an industry — let’s talk.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Director of Product Management to join the R&D leadership team as we build the leading platform for the fitness industry. This is an execution-first role: you will lead a team of product managers to deliver high-impact work, fast. You’ll bring structure, urgency, and accountability to everything from roadmap definition to weekly ship cycles—translating strategic direction into results that matter.

You’ll report to the SVP of R&D and manage a team of 4 to 6 PMs. You’ll be responsible for establishing strong product operating rhythms, partnering tightly with engineering and design, and coordinating with go-to-market teams to ensure smooth delivery and measurable impact. This role will also spearhead our transition to an AI-first product foundation—identifying opportunities to embed intelligence into the core product, streamline customer workflows, and deliver new value through automation and personalization. You’ll ensure AI is not a layer, but a core part of how we rethink PushPress for the next decade.

We’re looking for a high-agency leader who operates like an owner, builds momentum through others, and raises the bar across product, people, and execution.

What You'll Do

  • Own the product roadmap across multiple squads and product lines.
  • Build, manage, and develop a high-performing team of product managers.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with Design, Engineering, and GTM leaders.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align product strategy with company goals.
  • Lead integration of AI into key workflows across the product.
  • Develop rituals (e.g., OKRs, roadmap reviews, discovery cadences) to scale execution.
  • Foster a culture of customer obsession, data-driven decision making, and innovation.
  • Identify and prioritize new opportunities in emerging verticals and fitness subsegments.

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years in product management, with 3+ years managing PMs at high-growth startups.
  • Experience managing, hiring, and developing product management talent.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and ability to balance vision with execution.
  • Relentless execution mindset; thrives on ownership, speed, and driving outcomes.
  • Technical understanding to effectively partner with engineering teams.
  • Experience integrating AI capabilities into products.
  • Exceptional communicator who brings clarity and energy to product decisions.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with ambiguity.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
