About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a critical product for one of the fastest-growing companies in the data industry. As a Director of Product, you will lead the product management team for our SaaS offering, Starburst Galaxy, which is growing 94% year over year. In this role, you will drive roadmap development and spearhead strategic initiatives to ensure that we are accelerating Galaxy’s growth exponentially. You will inspire your team across Starburst to define vision, evaluate market opportunities, analyze industry trends and customer needs, and prioritize features and improvements. This is a highly visible and impactful role at a pivotal time in Starburst’s journey.

As Director of Product Management, you will: 

  • Develop and maintain a compelling roadmap aligned with our company strategy in collaboration with engineering and stakeholders across the organization
  • Work cross-functionally to drive the GTM strategy, including pricing, packaging, sales motions, and marketing campaigns
  • Manage product launches, ensuring success and customer adoption of new product features
  • Lead strategic initiatives such as partnerships, key customer engagements, and M&A.
  • Build, manage, and mentor a team of Product Managers
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and insights as well as maintain alignment and a shared product vision
  • Define and track key product metrics to measure the success of Galaxy and drive data-driven decision making
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and roadmap decisions

Some of the things we look for:

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven ability to drive successful product strategy and roadmap development
  • Experience launching and scaling SaaS products
  • Experience building and leading a team of Product Managers, fostering collaboration and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
  • Deep technical understanding of cloud and data infrastructure technologies
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

Starburst is dedicated to maintaining fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range provided for this role reflects the minimum and maximum targets for candidates across all U.S. locations and could be inclusive of variable compensation, such as commission or bonus. All employees receive equity packages (ISOs) and have access to a comprehensive benefits offering. Actual compensation packages are determined based on relevant skills, experience, education and training, and specific work location. $240,000$264,000 USD
