We seek an experienced Director of Product Engineering to lead our customer-facing product engineering teams. This role will oversee the development of key web and mobile applications and integrations and ensure exceptional quality through ownership of QA processes. Organized by product lanes, you will drive these critical product areas' architecture, delivery, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire multiple cross-functional engineering teams aligned by product verticals.
    • Own end-to-end delivery of customer-facing features on web and mobile platforms.
    • Manage and continuously improve the QA function to maintain high-quality standards.
    • Manage and grow engineers into leaders.
  • Strategic Execution:
    • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and customer success teams to align engineering efforts with customer needs and business goals.
    • Define and execute technical strategies that ensure scalable, robust, and maintainable product solutions.
    • Prioritize technical debt reduction and facilitate sustainable development practices.
    • Work with the CTO to align our product engineering teams with company goals to ensure the business's engineering strategy fits.
  • Product Development Oversight:
    • Oversee the entire product engineering lifecycle—design, development, deployment, and maintenance.
    • Champion best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and performance optimization.
    • Facilitate integration of third-party services and APIs to expand product capabilities.
    • Ensure the QA team delivers comprehensive coverage through automated and manual testing methodologies.
    • Establish metrics and feedback loops to maintain continuous improvement in product quality.
    • Ensure teams are shipping on time by coaching and growing team leads.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with senior leadership to report progress, risks, and dependencies.
    • Foster a collaborative environment between engineering, product, design, and support teams.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams in a SaaS environment, preferably with customer-facing web and mobile products.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in web and mobile application development.
  • Demonstrated experience with leveraging AI tools to improve engineering processes.
  • Exceptional ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling product teams organized around product lanes or verticals.
  • Familiarity with integrations and API-driven architectures.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
