Jellyfish is looking for an experienced and visionary Director of Product Design to lead our design organization and shape the future of how engineering organizations experience our platform. You’ll guide a team of product designers in crafting elegant, intuitive, and impactful experiences that help our customers (from high-growth startups to global enterprises) make better, data-driven decisions to improve their engineering productivity.

This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role. You’ll define the design vision for a complex, multi-product SaaS platform in an AI world, while staying close to the craft, ensuring our work delivers value for our customers. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Executive Leadership to evolve our design culture, scale our systems, and position Jellyfish at the forefront of AI-driven, enterprise-grade design.

Let’s talk about responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and communicate the product design vision, ensuring alignment with company goals and product strategy

  • Champion an AI-first design approach, integrating emerging technologies and design methodologies to reshape our product for an AI future

  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to drive innovation, prioritize design initiatives, and leverage the user experience to achieve business outcomes

  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team of designers

  • Create and evangelize design principles, standards, and processes that scale across product lines

Execution & Delivery

  • Oversee the end-to-end design process — from discovery and research to interaction design, prototyping, and usability testing

  • Improve the [something about the craft of design, incorporating AI tools/techniques and modern SDLC]

  • Maintain and enhance a robust design system that accelerates development velocity and improves usability

  • Use data-driven insights and customer feedback to iterate and continuously improve the user experience

Customer & Product Insight

  • Bring deep empathy for users (from engineering leaders to enterprise executives) and understanding of their needs in order to translate complex workflows into intuitive, human-centered experiences

  • Lead research efforts and turn qualitative and quantitative insights into actionable design decisions

  • Ensure design thinking and customer understanding are embedded throughout the product development lifecycle

Let’s talk about what you need to excel:

  • 10+ years of experience in product design for SaaS or enterprise software, with at least 3+ years in a leadership capacity

  • A technical mindset — comfortable collaborating with engineers, understanding data models, and designing for complex, data-rich workflows

  • Experience building or integrating AI-powered user experiences, ideally in B2B or technical domains

  • Deep understanding of enterprise UX patterns, systems thinking, org complexity, and scale requirements

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills — able to influence through clarity, empathy, and vision

  • Experience understanding and measuring successful business outcomes

  • A portfolio (or equivalent body of work) demonstrating design leadership across complex, multi-surface digital products

A list of job experiences and qualification requirements is great, but humility, a performance-driven attitude, and a team-player approach are most important to us. We love to have fun and win in the process. We only hire people who have a passion for building great companies in an environment where a sense of humor is a must.

Occasional travel may be required.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
