Job Description

As a key Team Manager and leader in the Strategic Sourcing function, the Director, Strategic Sourcing Digital & User Orchestration Transformation leader is responsible for enabling the strategic sourcing organizational value delivery through relevant, effective, and optimized digital solutions enabling strategic and simplified solutions for users from business need through the source to pay end to end. 

This leader role is responsible for shaping and driving the digital strategy, technology enablement, and user experience within the global strategic sourcing and procurement function. This role will lead initiatives that simplify the procurement journey for business users, deploy advanced digital tools, and optimize end-to-end processes to deliver efficiency, transparency, and value creation across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of procurement, digital technologies, change management, and user-centric design principles.

Digital Transformation & Technology Enablement

  • Define and execute the digital roadmap for procurement, aligning with enterprise technology and business strategies.
  • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of Source-to-Pay (S2P) platforms, automation, and AI-driven solutions.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (AI, ML, RPA, analytics, GenAI, chatbots) to enhance decision-making and operational agility.

User Experience & Orchestration

  • Redesign procurement processes to prioritize simplicity, speed, and positive user experiences.
  • Develop user journey maps to identify pain points and streamline the procurement interface for internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Champion adoption by creating intuitive self-service tools, guided buying channels, and digital assistant capabilities.

Process Optimization & Value Delivery

  • Standardize and automate procurement workflows to reduce complexity and cycle times.
  • Ensure digital investments deliver measurable business outcomes including cost savings, risk reduction, compliance, and improved supplier collaboration.
  • Drive analytics and data-driven insights for proactive decision support.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with global regulations and internal SOPs, regularly conducting reviews to assess compliance, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure strategy to pay process integration, simple and visible user experience, streamline workflows, reduce cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for strategic sourcing and procurement processes and monitor performance against these metrics.

Leadership & Change Management

  • Partner with senior executives, business leaders, DTE, and suppliers to influence digital adoption and mindset shift.
  • Align sourcing and procurement processes with overall business objectives and collaborate with key stakeholders to understand evolving needs; own, develop and embed tools and processes to enable consistency, simplification, and sustainability of strategic sourcing value to the business.
  • Act as a change agent, embedding digital-first and user-centric culture across procurement.
  • Foster strong partnerships and a culture of continuous learning and development within the strategic sourcing and procurement function to mature and sustain digital procurement journey and the value of the organization to the business.

Success Measures

  • Increased adoption and satisfaction with procurement tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated cost, efficiency, and compliance improvements through digitalization.
  • Reduction of procurement cycle times and user effort.
  • High stakeholder engagement and positive business feedback on procurement’s role as a strategic partner.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Technology, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or digital transformation roles, with at least 5 years in leadership.

Required Knowledge/Skills

  • Proven experience deploying large-scale procurement technology (Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer, Ivalua, SAP, Oracle, etc.) and digital solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of S2P processes, category management, and supplier engagement models.
  • Track record of delivering measurable outcomes through process transformation, automation, and user experience redesign.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate strategically while driving operational execution.
  • Able to establish and maintain strong business partner relationships at highest levels within the organization, partner on and shape strategies and develop multi-year plans to drive value for the business, gaining their respect and trust;
  • Thoughtful and active listener; able to think quickly and effectively articulate points of view.
  • Ability to work in collaborative, team environment; ability to cultivate and maintain effective business partner relationships through earned respect and trust
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring deliverables are fully met on-time, including more complex and involved projects. Once given direction, able to work autonomously with minimal support/direction from their Manager.

  • Advanced degree (e.g. MBA) and/or supply chain professional designation preferred
  • International assignments / experience a plus.

Pay Range:

$175,200 - $262,800

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as: 
1.    Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2.    On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
