Overview
The Principal of Program Management plays a pivotal leadership role in orchestrating the planning, execution, and delivery of complex, cross-functional programs that drive Mastercard Gateway's strategic and technical objectives. This role ensures alignment across engineering, product, and business teams, enabling scalable, efficient, and value-driven delivery. The Principal will champion TPM best practices, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and serve as a key partner to senior leadership in shaping and executing our strategic connectivity delivery roadmap. Responsible to drive the execution of acquiring integrations and regional payment method enablement; ensuring scalable, localized, and high-performing gateway services.
Key Responsibilities• Strategic alignment: Align regional delivery roadmaps with global product strategy, tailoring execution to meet local regulatory, technical, and market requirements.• Program Leadership: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of high-impact programs, from inception through delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals, technical feasibility, and customer value.• Connectivity expansion: Oversee the delivery of localized gateway capabilities including domestic card schemes, real-time payments, alternative payment methods, and compliance with country-specific mandates (e.g., data residency, tax obligations).• Organizational enablement: Lead cross-functional programs focused on expanding acquiring connectivity and payment method support across LAC and other strategic regions.• Valued Partner: Partner with product and engineering to ensure technical readiness for regional launches and enhancements.• Delivery POC: Act as a delivery liaison to internal and external stakeholders ensuring their requirements are captured and reflected in program execution.• Governance & Reporting: Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, including scorecards, KPIs, and executive reporting. Provide transparent updates on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.• Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate mindful discussions with technical and business stakeholders, enabling timely decision-making and trade-off analysis.• Commercial Enablement: Support regional account teams by equipping them with delivery insights, readiness timelines, and technical enablement materials.
Qualifications• Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional programs in a global technology organization.• Deep understanding of Agile frameworks, and hybrid delivery models, with the ability to tailor approaches to program needs.• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels, from engineering teams to executive leadership.• Experience delivering programs involving domestic schemes, real-time payments, and alternative payment methods.• Skilled in stakeholder management across global and regional teams, with a track record of influencing without authority.• Experience with tools such as Jira, Aha!, and PowerBI for roadmap and delivery tracking is highly desirable.• Strong grasp of local regulatory environments and compliance frameworks across Latin America• Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a strong plus.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.
Pay Ranges
Miami, Florida: $138,000 - $230,000 USD
