General Description:
The Director, Pricing & Contracting will support the development and execution of U.S. pricing and contracting strategies for in-line and pipeline assets within the solid tumor oncology portfolio, including PD1 therapies. This role will drive key pricing analyses, contracting frameworks, and scenario planning to support access, optimize revenue, and ensure alignment with evolving market and policy dynamics. The position will work cross-functionally across Market Access, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Government Pricing, and other stakeholders to enable effective execution and decision-making. This role will report to the Senior Director, Market Access Channel and GTN Strategy
Essential Functions:
- Lead U.S. pricing strategy development for solid tumor assets, including PD1 therapies and pipeline products, with clear recommendations on launch price, price evolution, contracting strategy, and channel considerations.
- Develop and manage contracting strategies for commercial and government payers, GPOs, IDNs, and other organized customers, optimizing for access, profitability, and sustainability.
- Drive Average Sales Price (ASP) forecasting and scenario planning in support of product launch readiness, competitive positioning, and gross-to-net projections.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure pricing and contracting strategies are aligned with brand objectives, market dynamics, and enterprise financial goals.
- Serve as the pricing and contracting lead in cross-functional launch teams for pipeline assets, ensuring readiness for pricing governance, reimbursement strategy, and GTN forecasting.
- Oversee U.S. pricing governance processes, including business case development, financial modeling, and executive presentations for approval of list price, contract terms, and pull-through initiatives.
- Monitor ASP trends, reimbursement benchmarks, and customer feedback to inform pricing strategy and proactively address risks to net price realization.
- Evaluate the impact of evolving policy changes (e.g., Inflation Reduction Act, Medicaid Best Price, ASP-based reimbursement shifts) and develop mitigation strategies as needed.
- Partner with Market Access field teams to support contract implementation, pull-through, and provider engagement, with a focus on buy-and-bill dynamics in oncology.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Government Pricing to ensure contracts meet regulatory and internal policy requirements.
Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Biological Sciences, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech and/or healthcare industry, with a strong focus on pricing strategy or market access.
Other Experience:
- Strong background in oncology, with solid tumor experience required; experience with PD1 or immuno-oncology therapies highly preferred.
- Expertise in market access dynamics and pricing landscapes, including a deep understanding of pricing and provider economics, reimbursement models, and government pricing regulations.
- Experience in commercial launches is preferred, with a demonstrated ability to develop and execute market access pricing strategies for new products.
- Strong presentation and communication skills - with exceptional aptitude for learning quickly and ability to communicate technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to network across a broad internal and external matrix organization and the skills necessary to form strong, productive partnerships and build consensus and acumen.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to understand broader market dynamics and translate insights into actionable strategies. Ability to evaluate the impact of regulatory, legislative, or contracting changes on pricing and business performance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills to leadership and C-suite management and external stakeholders.
- Flexible, adaptable, diplomatic, and able to effectively deal with ambiguity.
- Possess leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles.
- Able to identify and implement recommendations for improving processes and efficiency.
- Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships across all key internal & external stakeholders, including executive management.
