The Director, Portfolio Analytics will lead data analytics and forecasting for a portfolio of research and clinical programs, focusing on strategic planning and AI integration.
The Director, Portfolio Analytics will report to the SVP, Early Commercial and Development Strategy & Operations and be a valuable contributor to the Early Commercial Team and BlueRock Development Team. The role will support the BlueRock portfolio of research stage and early clinical programs by building capabilities in data analytics, portfolio forecasting and related business processes to inform decisions.
The individual must have a high degree of attention to detail and documentation of supporting assumptions when creating and maintaining deliverables to articulate the viewpoint on commercial potential and corresponding investment. The ideal candidate has the skill set required to effectively work in a team-oriented setting with cross-functional stakeholders. Key internal partners for this position include finance, research, new product planning, insights, clinical development, regulatory, program management, and business development functions.
Responsibilities:
- Forecasting and Predictive Analytics: Develop and implement advanced forecasting models to predict market trends, patient outcomes and financial performance to inform program indication strategy and commercial opportunity.
- Ensure timely and transparent communication of forecasts, assumptions, rationale, and supporting information tailored to the audience.
- AI Integration: Utilize AI and machine learning techniques to enhance data analysis, identify patterns, and generate actionable insights for portfolio management.
- Data management: Oversee the collection, integration and analysis of datasets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align forecasting and analytics efforts with overall business strategy and objectives.
- Support corporate strategy initiatives including special projects as the analytics expert. Leverage disease area, epidemiology and product knowledge to inform decisions.
- Partner with senior management, finance and Bayer colleagues on strategic initiatives and portfolio assessments.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in AI and analytics and integrate relevant advances into BlueRock Development and Early Commercial processes
- Collaboration: Leverage subject matter experts within program teams and functional teams.
- Partner with New Product Planning and Insights leads to identify key intelligence questions and business needs to shape market research and/or consulting projects.
- Establish and manage relationships with partners and data suppliers
- Support commercial assessments and business case generation for potential BD opportunities
- Develop strategic deliverable including the framing of business questions and develop analytics in support of program teams and commercial subteams. Create effective graphics to communicate the story
- Thought partner for cross functional leaders and team members. Leverage experience and knowledge to support the BlueRock programs as they evolve.
Minimum Requirements:
- 10+ years of equivalent professional experience with bachelor’s degree in sciences or 7+ years professional experience plus advanced degree (MSc, MBA, Ph.D.)
- Vendor management experience required
- At least 5 years in commercial forecasting and/or analytical roles; global experience preferred
- Proficiency in AI and machine learning tools, data visualization and data analysis preferred
- Detail oriented self-starter with the demonstrated ability to analyze, synthesize and present both business and scientific content
- Strong project management experience with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of pharmaceutical R&D process and regulatory environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data and insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Eventual travel is estimated to be 5-10%
