 About the Role

We are seeking a Director to build and scale a Center of Excellence across Paid Media and Demand Generation. This leader will take our strong B2B foundations and elevate them with a consumer-grade growth mindset inclusive of rapid experimentation, creative rigor, audience-first activation, and operational excellence.

This is a builder role. You will establish the operating system for how channels run, drive significantly higher testing velocity, and transform how we activate demand in a modern, iterative, high-output way.

If you love fast cycles, love learning from data, and know how to push channel teams to think like B2C growth operators, this role is for you.

What You’ll Own1. Paid Media Strategy & Execution
  • Own all paid channels: Search, Paid Social, Display/Programmatic, Review Sites, Retargeting, and Emerging Platforms.
  • Apply a B2C growth lens:
    • High-volume creative testing
    • Micro-segmented audiences
    • Fast iterative experimentation
    • Continuous offer & message variation
  • Manage multi-million-dollar budgets with discipline while enabling smart, rapid tests.
  • Build channel playbooks and standards that raise execution quality across the organization.
2. Demand Generation Channels
  • Own DG channels including:
    • Content syndication
    • Webinars & virtual events
    • Trial or freemium-driven programs
    • Review-site based DG
  • Shift demand generation to a fast, experimentation-driven engine—shorter cycles, lighter lifts, more creativity.
  • Improve conversion efficiency and pipeline generation across segments.
3. Experimentation & Testing Velocity
  • Build a central experimentation engine for Paid Media + DG.
  • Define clear processes for:
    • Hypothesis creation
    • Test design
    • QA & launch
    • Rapid measurement
    • Scale-or-kill decisions
  • Increase testing velocity across creative, landing pages, audiences, offers, and channels.
  • Reduce friction by introducing templates, modular workflows, and streamlined approvals.
4. Center of Excellence Frameworks
  • Create and maintain the operating model for channel execution:
    • Campaign templates
    • QA checklists
    • Naming/taxonomy standards
    • Routing & setup guidelines
    • Behavior Scoring
  • Bring consistency and quality across segments, regions, and teams.
  • Lead enablement for channel managers; equip them with the tools to execute with “consumer-grade” speed and quality.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner with Product Marketing to convert messaging into compelling channel activation.
  • Collaborate with MarTech to simplify workflows, automate repeatable steps, and improve channel speed.
  • Work closely with SDR + Sales teams to ensure DG-driven demand flows efficiently through follow-up processes.
What You Bring
  • 8–12+ years in Paid Media, Demand Generation, Growth Marketing, or Acquisition—experience across both B2B and B2C strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to build high-velocity testing systems and drive rapid experimentation
  • Deep channel mastery with a creative sensibility and performance mindset.
  • Experience building frameworks, processes, and centralized standards.
  • Comfort leading in fast-paced, dynamic environments and influencing cross-functional partners.
Why This Role Matters

We’re transforming how we build demand. This role sets the bar for channel excellence, creative velocity, and the kind of modern growth operating model most B2B orgs aspire to. You will directly shape how we scale, how fast we learn, and how much pipeline we generate.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
