At Altisource, we’re seeking a results-oriented We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Operations to lead and optimize our construction lending risk management function. This role will oversee pre-close operations, funds distribution, and ensure seamless coordination across underwriting, client onboarding, and post-close activities. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in construction lending, operational leadership, and risk mitigation.

 

Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Operational Leadership

  • Design and implement scalable processes for pre-close reviews, draw management, and funds disbursement.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely and compliant loan closings.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for underwriting, risk assessment, and post-close monitoring.

Risk Management

  • Oversee risk evaluation protocols for construction loans, including borrower vetting, project feasibility, and collateral analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to manage operational risk exposure.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a senior point of contact for clients during onboarding and throughout the loan lifecycle.
  • Represent the company at industry events and client meetings.
  • Build and mentor a team capable of client-facing interactions and operational excellence.

Team Development

  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing operations team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and develop future leaders within the operations function.

 

Qualifications

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU BRING:

  • Experience in construction lending operations, underwriting, or risk management.
  • Proven leadership experience in a high-volume lending environment (e.g., private money lenders like Lima One, Archwest).
  • Strong understanding of pre-close documentation, draw schedules, and fund control.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with both residential and commercial (multi-unit) lending preferred.
