Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations Intelligence, the Director of Operations Analytics & Workforce Optimization will lead a team that defines how Spring Health’s Operations organization uses data to drive performance, efficiency, and scalability. This leader will combine analytical depth with strategic acumen, serving as a trusted thought partner and advisor to the leaders of the Operations functional departments on their most critical business priorities. The ideal candidate is a strategic systems thinker who is equally comfortable designing frameworks and engaging at the executive level — shaping how Spring Health runs its global Operations through analytics, planning, and workforce optimization. This is a full time, fully-remote position, though the ability to be onsite in our NYC office once a week is preferred.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a strategic analytics Center of Excellence: Develop frameworks, tools, and governance necessary for Operations functional teams to effectively measure performance, identify improvement opportunities, and optimize resource allocation, leveraging analytics and AI-powered solutions.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to Operations leadership: Partner directly with Ops leaders to diagnose challenges, define success metrics, and use data to inform strategic decisions.
- Own workforce management strategy: Build and govern scalable capacity planning, forecasting, and staffing models to ensure optimal alignment of resources with member and provider demand.
- Define and standardize how Operations measures success: Create common KPI definitions, dashboard structures, and reporting methodologies that establish a single source of truth across all functions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with teams such as Finance, BI, and Product to ensure alignment on data infrastructure, definitions, and reporting consistency.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team: Build and lead a group of analysts and planners who bring rigor, curiosity, and influence to every engagement.
What success looks like:
- Internal partner satisfaction: Operations leaders view you and your team as an embedded strategic partner — not a reporting function.
- Impact of analytics-driven initiatives on operational KPIs: Clear, consistent, and actionable frameworks guide data-driven decision-making across all Ops departments.
- Reduction in manual or duplicative reporting across Operations: Stakeholders consistently leverage analytics - powered by AI wherever possible - to improve performance, resource allocation, and scalability.
- Workforce management forecast accuracy: Forecasting and capacity planning are accurate, trusted, and proactively used in leadership discussions.
- Employee Thriving score: A high-performing analytics and WFM team that operates with strategic focus and business fluency.
What you’ll bring:
- 10+ years of experience in operations strategy, analytics, or a related role (e.g., management consulting), preferably within healthcare; 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in workforce management or capacity planning is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with senior executives to solve complex business challenges using data and structured analysis.
- Strong command of data and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, SQL, Hex).
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills; able to synthesize complex analysis into actionable insights and influence leadership decisions.
- A builder’s mindset — comfortable establishing frameworks, processes, and standards in a scaling environment.
- Strong leadership presence and ability to develop, motivate, and empower analytical talent.
