Job Purpose and Summary:

The Director of Omnichannel Planning and Analytics will lead a team responsible for: performance reporting and analysis of digital businesses; budgeting and forecasting; and quantitative assessments of initiatives to drive digital growth.

This individual will lead prioritization of ad hoc data requests & dashboard builds based on business needs and drive our mission to be a customer-centric, data-driven organization. They will lead the definition and execution of data strategies derived to enable growth using customer shopping behavior, needs, intents, and responses. This position will report to the Executive Director, Digital Merchandising.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Delivers Results (35%):

  • Helping to shape the e-commerce growth strategy to create a world class omnichannel experience

  • Developing a multi-year business case, in support of the digital and omni-channel vision

  • Lead the planning & execution of financial forecast and budget submissions for sales/margin/expenses

  • Ensuring accurate and timely performance management tracking, insights, and proposed actions to deliver on defined financial goals and achieve the consumer vision

  • Partner closely with key stakeholders from cross-functional partners including Finance, Analytics, Digital Merchandising, Fulfillment, Marketing, Merchandising, Rx, Strategy, Inventory and Store Operations

  • Influence and partner with internal and external partners to drive digital and total enterprise value for CVS

  • Leverage data, insights, and analytics to influence stakeholders and make recommendations as appropriate

  • Lead weekly business review discussions via sharing Key performance indications and insights

  • Lead Monthly & Quarterly financial read outs

Strategic Planning & Analytics (40%):

  • Develop multi-year business case, in support of the digital and omni-channel vision

  • Building P&L that accurately depicts the omnichannel business

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including finance, fulfillment, call center to ensure accuracy in data and forecasts

  • Support the development and implementation of our Omnichannel Data Strategy

  • Drive analysis on overall digital business

  • Understand performance and market trends

  • Navigates ambiguity and change to achieve goals despite potential obstacles

  • Support strategic initiatives and KPI performance

Drive Innovation (15%):

  • Support the creation & optimization of business tools and reports

  • Analyze operating expenses and partner with cross functional teams to drive improvements  

  • Lead analytics team to deep dive on results, uncover risks and opportunities to sales and margin budget

  • Look for ways to break through implementation barriers rather than be impeded by them

Champion Culture (10%):

  • Leadership: Providing guidance, direction, and support to teams and departments to ensure smooth operations and optimal performance

  • Responsible for development, succession planning, and driving engagement within the team

  • Act as a trusted coach and mentor for team to develop and support IDPs for high potential talent

  • Create a culture centered on inclusion and well-being

  • Promotes a high-performance culture by clearly setting personal goals and expectations

  • Leverage existing enterprise tools, such as talent profiles and enterprise development programs, to develop talent

  • Lead onboarding tasks for new hires; builds, maintains, and enhances all onboarding documentations

Essential Qualifications and Functions: 

  • 8+ years of prior relevant work experience

  • 10+ years Experience in financial and or merchandise planning

  • 10+ years of experience in Finance, P&L management, or business development for ecommerce business or retailer

  • 10+ years using data and analytics to develop business strategies and tell compelling stories

  • Understanding of retail financial metrics

  • Regular and reliable attendance during normal working hours, as established by the leader

  • Travel- Ability, and willingness, to travel regularly, 10% of time, based on needs of the business

  • Leverages a continual improvement mindset to create simplicity and improve the colleague and customer experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated by successful collaboration to achieve shared goals

  • Strong time management skills, evidenced by experience being accountable to multiple deliverables on staggered deadlines

  • Strong personal integrity and judgment, evidenced by a track record of managing highly sensitive or highly visible business matters

  • Demonstrating strong attention to detail and follow through with commitments

Ability to:

  • Deliver high quality professional communications, presentations, responses and analyses on a wide range of requests by working quickly, independently and with minimal direction

  • Communicate clearly to small and large groups internally and externally to lead complex projects to completion

  • Collaborate cross functionally with leaders and colleagues’ enterprise wide to solution, implement, and drive results

  • Plan and execute short- and long-term goals

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 12+ years’ experience in merchandise and or financial planning

  • Experience managing a P&L

  • Demonstrated ability to understand not only business KPIs and initiatives, but also possess a deep understanding of the technical backend and be able to participate in project release and business requirement documentation

  • 10+ years’ advanced excel, Teradata, Snowflake

  • 10+ years’ experience influencing without authority

  • Strategic thinker complemented with ability to develop and communicate solid plan

  • Passion for digital and how new offerings and capabilities can meaningfully drive engagement, empowerment, and the overall consumer experience in health care

  • Advanced degree

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
