How will you make an impact

The Director of Marketing will lead the divisional marketing team to achieve business objectives and accelerate growth across the division’s portfolio. In addition to expertise in change management and team development, this leader will define and execute strategic and tactical marketing initiatives that increase brand awareness, generate demand, support commercialization, and strengthen customer engagement.

This role requires a strong strategic marketer who can work across a complex, matrixed organization, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and translate market insights into growth initiatives. Success in this role depends on deep knowledge of the life sciences industry, customer needs, competitive technologies, and scientific trends, along with the ability to identify new market opportunities and lead teams through execution.

What will you do

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing divisional marketing team through strong communication, talent development, prioritization, and execution.
  • Define and drive a clear marketing strategy across the Biological and Chemical Division product portfolio.
  • Support aggressive growth targets in a dynamic and evolving market environment.
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies, campaigns, and initiatives that build brand awareness, thought leadership, customer education, and demand generation.
  • Lead cross-business and divisional initiatives that support successful commercialization of new products and expansion of existing technologies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.

Positioning, messaging, and commercialization

  • Lead development of positioning, messaging, branding, and sales enablement tools to support product launches and adoption of new product introductions.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer requirements, assess messaging effectiveness, and inform strategy.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Direct the development of internal training materials and customer-facing tools to ensure the commercial organization is prepared in advance of product launches.
  • Shape, communicate, and uphold brand identity standards in partnership with corporate marketing.

Performance management and cross-functional execution

  • Establish and track KPIs, dashboards, and scorecards to measure marketing effectiveness, business impact, and financial performance.
  • Partner with analytics teams to generate actionable insights and lead strategic initiatives that drive growth.
  • Collaborate effectively with Product Management, R&D, Sales, regional marketing teams, and business leaders across geographies.
  • Select, manage, and optimize relationships with external agencies and vendors.

How will you get here

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive marketing experience in a life sciences or biotechnology organization, including leadership responsibility.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive alignment across all levels of a complex, matrixed, global organization.
  • Strong experience in global marketing strategy, brand planning, positioning, messaging, and commercialization.
  • Demonstrated success building and improving processes that accelerate decision-making and execution.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data and insights to guide strategy, measure performance, and optimize outcomes.
  • Experience in digital marketing, social media strategy, customer acquisition, and retention programs.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple initiatives, and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Global and cross-regional experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% globally.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $160,000.00–$235,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
