The Director of Marketing and Content Creation will lead strategic content initiatives, manage a content team, and develop a multi-channel marketing strategy aligned with business goals.
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Marketing and Content Creation to lead the development and execution of our content marketing strategy. This individual will play a key leadership role in shaping how we communicate our value, expertise, and brand narrative across channels. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in professional services marketing—preferably with a background at a Big 4 firm—and bring a combination of creative vision, operational discipline, and business acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
· Strategic Content Leadership: Develop and implement a forward-looking, multi-channel content marketing strategy aligned with firm-wide business goals and brand positioning. Define core content pillars, themes, and formats to engage priority audiences.
· Content Creation & Distribution Oversight: Produce compelling and high-quality content. Oversee content publication across platforms including the firm’s website, blog, social media, email campaigns, and thought leadership pieces.
· External Events & Thought Leadership Programming: Plan, coordinate, and execute the firm’s presence at key external events—including industry conferences, speaking engagements, webinars, client roundtables, and sponsored events. Ensure that event strategies are integrated with broader marketing and content goals to enhance brand visibility, showcase expertise, and drive business development.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders across practices to ensure content supports practice-specific objectives and enhances client engagement.
· Performance Measurement & Optimization: Use analytics tools to track performance metrics (engagement, lead generation, brand visibility) and continuously refine content strategy based on data-driven insights.
· Budget Management: Manage the content marketing budget, ensuring strategic allocation of resources, cost-efficiency, and measurable return on investment.
· Team Leadership & Development: Inspire and mentor a high-performing content team, fostering creativity, accountability, and professional growth. Establish clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching.
· Innovation & Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of emerging trends in digital marketing, content formats, and technologies. Regularly benchmark against industry best practices to enhance content effectiveness and competitive positioning.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
· Seven to ten plus years of progressive experience in content marketing, brand strategy, or related field—ideally within professional services or B2B environment.
· Prior experience at a Big 4 firm or similar is highly desirable.
· Proven track record of leading strategic content initiatives that drive business outcomes.
· Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities across multiple formats (e.g., video, blogs, whitepapers, podcasts).
· Strong understanding of SEO, web analytics, CMS platforms, and content distribution tools.
· Experienced team leader with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
· Ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate a matrixed organization.
