About this Role: 

We are looking to hire a Director of Legal to lead the legal function at Patch My PC and serve as a trusted advisor across all business units. Reporting to the CFO, this fully remote role is responsible for commercial contracts, employment law, data privacy, product compliance, and legal operations. You will partner with internal stakeholders, manage an internal paralegal, and coordinate with outside counsel when needed. This is a strategic, hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in high-growth or startup environments. 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary legal advisor to internal teams including Sales, Marketing, People Operations, Engineering, and Customer Success 
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including Master Service Agreements, Reseller and Partnership Agreements, Data Processing Agreements, Terms of Service and Privacy Policies
  • Own and manage the customer contracting cycle from start to finish 
  • Support HR with employment law matters including Offer letters and employment agreements, Dispute resolution, Leave and disability accommodations, Incentive compensation and FLSA classification 
  • Advise on compliance with privacy laws such as CCPA and GDPR 
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering on regulatory considerations for new features and offerings 
  • Develop and manage company-wide AI policy and governance 
  • Manage internal paralegal and relationships with external legal counsel 

Required Skills:

  • J.D. degree and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar 
  • 7+ years of legal experience, including in-house counsel and/or law firm experience 
  • Demonstrated experience in high-growth companies or startup environments 
  • Expertise in commercial contract drafting and negotiation 
  • Working knowledge of U.S. employment law and data privacy regulations 
  • Ability to independently manage a diverse legal workload across multiple functions 
  • Strategic thinker with strong business judgment and risk assessment skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills 
  • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism in dealing with confidential matters 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting SaaS or enterprise software businesses 
  • International legal experience or exposure to cross-border contracting 
  • Familiarity with developing internal legal policies (AI, privacy, compliance, etc.) 
  • Experience working remotely and across distributed teams 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive Base Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 commensurate with experience and location, with potential for bonus earnings.
