About the Role:

The Director, Legal Counsel will oversee and manage all litigation matters globally for Gartner, including business and with a primary focus on employment litigation. Reporting to the SVP, Global Employment Law, Litigation and Safety & Security, this role will also provide support on a broad range of other litigation-related matters and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across the organization. This position is well-suited for an accomplished legal professional with a strong background in litigation who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment

What you’ll do:

  • Manage all aspects of litigation matters globally, inclusive of coordination with external and internal counsel and internal stakeholders to develop case strategies and oversee legal budgets.
  • Provide timely updates and overviews of active cases.
  • Respond to subpoenas and other litigation-related matters; manage internal information and document collection.
  • Identify litigation trends and improvement opportunities, and partner with internal stakeholders to design and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support other internal teams (e.g. Employment Law, Compliance & Data Protection, Ombuds) as requested.

What you’ll need:

  • JD or LLM degree and active bar membership required.
  • At least 7 years of litigation experience including employment and business litigation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey key points clearly and succinctly to both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters concurrently.
  • Knowledge of e-discovery platforms and approaches.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work successfully with a variety of internal teams, including but not limited to Employment Law, Commercial Legal, Human Resources, IT, Finance, Internal Audit, Compliance and Data Protection, and the Office of the Ombuds.
  • Comfort working in high-growth environments that demand year-over-year improvement at both the individual and team level.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 134,000 USD - 185,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates. We also offer market leading benefit programs including generous PTO, a 401k match up to $7,200 per year, the opportunity to purchase company stock at a discount, and more.
