Position Summary 

Mineralys is entering an exciting period of growth and organizational evolution. As the organization scales, we are committed to building leadership capability, strengthening organizational effectiveness, and creating a culture where employees can perform, develop, and thrive. 

The Director, Learning & Organizational Development serves as a strategic partner to the Vice President, Talent Management, HR colleagues, and business leaders to assess organizational needs and design solutions that strengthen leadership effectiveness, accelerate talent development, and support business performance. 

This is a highly visible builder and player-coach role requiring a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The Director will help shape the future of Learning & Organizational Development at Mineralys while personally designing, facilitating, implementing, and continuously improving programs and initiatives across the organization. 

While positioned at the Director level, this role requires a builder mindset and the ability to establish foundational Learning & Organizational Development programs and practices that can scale alongside the organization’s continued growth. 

Key Responsibilities 

Organizational Development & Consulting 

  • Partner with business leaders and HR colleagues to diagnose organizational challenges and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness, capability, engagement, and performance. 
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative data, including organizational metrics, employee feedback, interviews, and assessments, to identify root causes and inform solutions. 
  • Apply systems thinking and organizational development methodologies to address business challenges and improve organizational outcomes. 
  • Translate business needs into actionable organizational development and learning strategies. 
  • Serve as a trusted consultant to leaders on organizational effectiveness, team dynamics, leadership capability, and change readiness. 

Leadership Development 

  • Design and deliver leadership development programs that strengthen leadership capability across all levels of the organization. 
  • Develop scalable learning experiences for new managers, emerging leaders, and senior leaders. 
  • Partner with leaders to identify critical leadership capabilities needed to support organizational growth and future business needs. 
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness and continuously improve programs based on participant feedback, business outcomes, and organizational priorities. 

Learning Strategy & Program Design 

  • Design and implement learning solutions aligned with business priorities and organizational capability needs. 
  • Develop engaging learning experiences utilizing adult learning principles and blended learning methodologies. 
  • Build practical, scalable development resources, toolkits, job aids, and learning curricula. 
  • Identify opportunities to enhance learning experiences through technology, innovation, and modern learning practices. 
  • Establish meaningful measures of success that evaluate learning impact beyond participation and completion rates. 

Change Management & Organizational Transformation 

  • Lead and support change management initiatives that enable successful adoption of organizational, process, and technology changes. 
  • Develop change strategies, stakeholder engagement approaches, communication plans, and leader enablement resources. 
  • Partner with leaders to assess organizational readiness and address barriers to successful change adoption. 
  • Drive sustainable behavior change through effective learning, communication, and reinforcement strategies. 

Facilitation & Team Effectiveness 

  • Facilitate leadership workshops, team effectiveness sessions, strategic planning meetings, and organizational interventions. 
  • Design and lead executive and leadership team sessions that strengthen alignment, accountability, collaboration, and performance. 
  • Deliver engaging and credible facilitation to audiences ranging from new managers to executive leadership. 
  • Guide leaders through experiential learning and application of new skills and behaviors. 

Talent Processes & Leadership Enablement 

  • Partner with the Talent Management team to support talent reviews, leadership assessments, succession discussions, and development planning processes. 
  • Contribute to initiatives that strengthen organizational capability and internal talent development. 
  • Help leaders identify development opportunities and practical actions that improve team performance and readiness. 
  • Support the evolution of manager effectiveness and performance development programs. 

AI & Digital Learning Innovation 

  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance learning design, content development, knowledge sharing, and program measurement. 
  • Explore innovative approaches to skills development, learning personalization, and workforce capability building. 
  • Partner across HR and business functions to identify opportunities for technology-enabled learning solutions. 
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and translate them into practical applications for the organization. 

What Success Looks Like 

Within the first 12-24 months, this leader will: 

  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with leaders across the organization. 
  • Launch foundational leadership and manager development programs aligned to business priorities. 
  • Create scalable learning experiences and development resources that support organizational growth. 
  • Lead successful organizational development and change management initiatives. 
  • Strengthen manager effectiveness and leadership capability. 
  • Introduce practical tools and processes that improve organizational effectiveness and employee development. 
  • Build a strong foundation for Learning & Organizational Development that can evolve alongside Mineralys’ future growth. 

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Education, Business, or a related field. 
  • 8-10+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Talent Management, or a related discipline. 
  • Experience building Learning & Organizational Development capabilities and programs in a high-growth environment 
  • Demonstrated experience diagnosing organizational challenges and developing effective solutions. 
  • Proven success designing and facilitating leadership development programs and executive-level workshops. 
  • Experience leading organizational change and transformation initiatives. 
  • Strong consulting, influence, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills. 
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution. 
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills. 
  • Strong business acumen and organizational awareness. 

Preferred 

  • Master's degree in Organizational Development, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Certification in organizational development, change management, executive coaching, leadership development, or facilitation. 
  • Experience supporting rapid organizational growth and scaling organizations. 
  • Experience within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry. 
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled learning technologies and workforce development tools. 

Ideal Candidate Profile 

We are seeking a leader who can diagnose organizational challenges, design practical solutions, and personally drive execution. This individual will be comfortable partnering with executives on organizational effectiveness and leadership development while also rolling up their sleeves to create programs, facilitate workshops, and implement solutions. 

The successful candidate will bring the credibility to influence senior leaders, the expertise to facilitate meaningful change, and the hands-on mindset necessary to build and scale Learning & Organizational Development capabilities in a rapidly growing organization. 

Travel

This position requires up to 10% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight. 

US Salary Range: $163,000-190,000
