As the Director of Account Management, you are pivotal in nurturing the relationship with one of Spreetail's largest strategic accounts. This role requires a hands-on approach, with a significant emphasis on operational expertise and deep understanding of e-commerce, with a background in consumables and/or cold chain being ideal. You will work closely with our strategic accounts, ensuring that we exceed their expectations through meticulous attention to operational details and strategic insights.

How you will achieve success:

  • Operational Excellence: Driving measurable improvements in key operational areas, leading to increased efficiency, reduced errors, and higher customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic Growth: Demonstrating significant contributions to the strategic account's growth, leveraging insights and operational improvements to enhance brand value.
  • Strong Brand Relationship: Establishing a trusted partnership with the brand, marked by mutual respect, understanding, and shared goals.
  • Strategic Account Support: Provide dedicated support to one of our largest strategic accounts, focusing on operational excellence and strategic growth of the e-commerce fulfillment business. A background in both e-commerce and fulfillment operations is necessary.
  • Account Leadership: Lead a high-performing team of Account Managers that can effectively manage and grow the portfolio of brands that use Spreetail's fulfillment services. Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities for the team members, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

What experiences will help you in this role:

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in e-commerce operations.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify issues, and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a role with significant supply chain operations responsibilities, preferably in e-commerce, 3PL, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Preferred but not required: experience with cold chain operations and/or consumable product fulfillment operations. Background in logistics, supply chain management, or related operational areas.
  • Preferred but not required: Experience with large, strategic account management.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
