In this role, you'll shape our insurance strategy, manage carrier and partner relationships, and serve as a trusted advisor to small business clients. You'll be the bridge between insurance complexity and customer simplicity — making sure we offer the right products, keep costs competitive, and maintain bulletproof compliance.

What You'll DoLead Insurance Strategy
- Design and execute Meridio’s insurance product roadmap.
- Negotiate with carriers to secure competitive rates and terms.
- Build strong relationships with carriers, TPAs, and partners.
- Use data and analytics to evaluate product performance and measure value delivered to clients.
Ensure Rock-Solid Compliance
- Stay ahead of ACA, ERISA, and state/federal regulations.
- Create scalable processes that ensure compliance without slowing us down.
- Lead audits, manage regulatory filings, and oversee licensing renewals for both Meridio and our licensed guides.
- Contribute to Meridio’s broader compliance and risk management efforts (including SOC2 readiness).
Drive Customer Innovation & Advocacy
- Act as a trusted advisor to small business clients, guiding them through plan selection, renewals, and insurance decisions.
- Educate and empower clients to make confident insurance choices without needing in-house benefits expertise.
- Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Product to simplify customer experiences and strengthen client outcomes.
- Test and roll out new insurance models and partnerships that expand access to affordable benefits.
Build & Manage Partnerships
- Own relationships with insurance carriers, reinsurers, and TPAs.
- Negotiate contracts that balance customer value with business growth.
- Monitor partner performance and address issues quickly.
Lead & Develop
- Mentor internal teams on insurance best practices.
- Represent Meridio as a subject matter expert with clients and at industry events.
- Build repeatable, scalable processes that will grow alongside Meridio.
- Lay the groundwork for building a small insurance-focused team as we scale.
- Launch of 2+ new insurance products.
- 95%+ renewal rate for existing customers.
- 15%+ improvement in benefit value across all products.
- 100% compliance with filings, audits, and licensing renewals.
- Positive feedback from clients on insurance guidance and education.
- Reporting and insights in place to measure product performance and client value.

- 7–10 years in health insurance or employee benefits.
- Deep knowledge of group health plans and regulations.
- Experience negotiating with carriers and TPAs.
- Track record of launching and scaling insurance products.
- Strong grasp of ACA, ERISA, and state insurance laws.
- Ability to translate “insurance-speak” into plain English.
