This strategic role will be responsible for building, scaling, and managing the team in India, while ensuring alignment with Cloudflare's global Infrastructure strategy and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the Bengaluru center, ensuring alignment with Cloudflare's global goals, standards, and strategic direction.
- Establish and maintain efficient operational processes and systems to drive productivity, quality, and scalability.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the center
- Imbue the Cloudflare culture of accountability, a growth mindset, and getting things done
- Provide strong support to the team and ensure they are set up for success across functions.
Technical Team Leadership:
- Lead a critical function within Infrastructure, either a regional operational role such as Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Network Operations, or Infrastructure Operations; OR an independent engineering function such as Large Scale Testing, Infrastructure Tooling, or Hardware Sustaining. In addition, provide dotted-line leadership and regional support for other Infrastructure Engineering functions operating in India.
- Partner closely with other regional leaders and stay connected with cross functional teams operating in the region
- Drive the strategic direction and execution of key technical initiatives, ensuring they meet quality, timeline, and budgetary requirements.
- Promote a collaborative and innovative environment, encouraging the team to push the boundaries of technology
- Mentor and develop technical leaders and high-potential employees within the team.
Executive Support:
- Leverage personal influence and professional network to support growing networks and partnerships.
- Participate in high-level meetings and presentations to showcase the company's capabilities and value proposition.
- Collaborate with the teams to develop strategic plans for key opportunities.
- Provide insights and support based on technical expertise and market knowledge to drive company success.
- Work effectively with remote teams in the US / EMEA / APJC, demonstrating flexibility in time zones and availability.
- Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between the teams in Bengaluru other hub offices.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience : Minimum 15 years in senior leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing large-scale operations and leading high-performing technical teams. Experience in seeding and scaling a regional team in India is highly desirable.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of Infrastructure engineering and experience operating infrastructure at a global scale
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure
- Cultural Competence: Ability to navigate and bridge cultural differences effectively.
- Remote Collaboration: Proven ability to work with remote teams across different time zones and willingness to travel as necessary.
