Full-time | Procurement | 10+ Years Experience
Location: Norfolk, VA (or Remote/Hybrid depending on org preference)
Reports to: Chief Procurement Officer
Base Salary Range: $145,000 – $170,000 annual base | Target Bonus: 15%

About the Role
Cargomatic is seeking a Director of Indirect Procurement to lead and scale our sourcing strategy across all non-product spend categories. This is a highly strategic and operational role responsible for driving cost efficiency, supplier performance, and procurement governance in a fast-growing, technology-driven logistics organization.

You will partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, IT, HR, and Operations to build a best-in-class procurement function that enables growth, improves visibility into spend, and strengthens supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive indirect procurement strategy aligned with company financial and operational goals
  • Establish procurement policies, workflows, and compliance standards across the organization
  • Partner with executive stakeholders to forecast spend, manage budgets, and support key initiatives

Category Management

  • Lead sourcing across IT, facilities, travel, corporate services, and other indirect spend categories
  • Negotiate enterprise agreements and drive vendor consolidation
  • Identify cost savings, process improvements, and innovation opportunities across all categories

Supplier Management

  • Build and manage a high-performing supplier ecosystem
  • Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable pricing and service levels
  • Implement supplier scorecards, QBRs, and performance tracking frameworks

Operational Excellence

  • Develop scalable procurement processes, reporting, and analytics
  • Drive adoption of procurement tools (ERP, P2P, contract lifecycle systems)
  • Partner with Finance and AP to ensure accurate spend tracking and cost controls
  • Reduce maverick spend and improve organizational compliance

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including leadership in procurement or sourcing
  • Strong experience negotiating IT, facilities, and professional services contracts
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, vendor management, and procurement operations
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • MBA or relevant certifications (CPSM, CSCP)
  • Experience implementing procurement systems or digital transformation initiatives
  • Background in logistics, transportation, or high-growth tech environments
