Job Summary

The Director of Human Resources (HRD) plays a key leadership role in implementing HR strategies and programs that support organizational objectives and workforce needs across assigned Sectors within the North America region. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Human Resources, the Director leads a team of HR professionals, functioning as a strategic advisor, change champion, and operational partner to business leaders. The Director will ensure the consistent application of people programs, compliance with applicable laws, and alignment with the company’s vision, values, and growth goals.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Partner with business leaders and operational leadership to drive workforce strategies aligned to business goals and employee engagement.
  • Support the execution of enterprise-wide people initiatives, cascading strategy and adapting programs for Sector level impact.
  • Act as a key liaison between the AVP, Human Resources and HR Business Partners, ensuring alignment of Sector execution with corporate direction.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Lead the resolution of complex employee relations matters; coach and advise leaders on best practices, risk management, and legal compliance.
  • Promote a positive employee experience that supports engagement, retention, and alignment with GI vision, strategy, purpose and values.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to manage investigations, policy compliance, and ER escalations with integrity and confidentiality.

Talent Management & Workforce Planning

  • Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition, L&D, and business leaders to forecast workforce needs, identify capability gaps, and support succession planning.
  • Contribute to the execution of leadership development, performance management, and internal mobility programs.
  • Drive job leveling and workforce design efforts to ensure scalable, sustainable organizational structures.

HR Operations & Program Delivery

  • Oversee the effective delivery of HR programs and services across the employee lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Use data and analytics to identify trends, monitor program effectiveness, and continuously improve HR service delivery.
  • Support annual cycles including performance reviews, compensation planning, talent calibration, and workforce planning in partnership with COEs.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of HR Business Partners and/or generalists, fostering high performance and accountability.
  • Model cross-functional collaboration, operating as a role model for HR team culture and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a senior HR business partner or HR leadership role.
  • Proven experience supporting leaders in a mid-to-large scale organization (2,000+ ee) with a distributed workforce.
  • Strong employee relations, talent planning, and leadership coaching experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; able to influence and build trust at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (Workday preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and HR analytics/reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and compliance across U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions (additional geographies a plus).
  • Experience in A/E/C or professional services industries is an asset.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented leadership approach.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Strong business acumen with a passion for developing people and driving results.


 

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $144,000 - $210,000 annually for this position and local market.
