We are seeking an accomplished Director, HR Employee Partner with deep expertise in labor relations to support our Sensors business segment. In this highly visible role, you will work closely with leaders to shape and advance our employee value proposition while driving critical workforce initiatives. You will lead key HR functions and initiatives—including employee/ labor relations, workforce strategy, and talent management—to strengthen our culture, enhance organizational capability, and enable operational excellence.
This leader oversees a team of eight HR Employee Partners and supports manufacturing operations in Andover, MA (primary location), with additional responsibility for sites in Louisville, KY and Portsmouth, RI. This is a primarily onsite role based in Andover, MA.
What You Will Do
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and HR partners, building a strong performance culture, elevating employee engagement, and resolving complex employee matters.
- Lead development and execution of HR and labor relations strategies that foster a positive work environment and ensure business continuity.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with local and international union leadership.
- Provide day‑to‑day guidance on contract administration, negotiations, grievances, discipline, arbitrations, and federal/state labor compliance.
- Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and supporting materials for negotiations, HREP performance metrics, and key initiatives to enable informed decision‑making and effective stakeholder communication.
- Serve as the primary connector between functional Centers of Expertise (COEs) and People Services, ensuring seamless integration and execution of programs, policies, and processes for the assigned client group.
- Manage the full grievance process through the final pre‑arbitration step; support arbitration preparation and serve as company advocate as needed.
- Advise on workforce strategy—including planning, succession, knowledge transfer, and high‑potential development—to strengthen organizational capability.
- Coach and develop leaders to build innovative, high‑performing teams aligned with the RTX People Strategy.
- Lead implementation of employee relations, leadership development, and communication strategies that advance organizational objectives.
- Create and promote development opportunities for Employee Partner team members.
- Lead or contribute to organizational assessments, employee surveys, and action planning to enhance engagement, belonging, and performance.
- Drive and participate in CORE initiatives to improve efficiency and quality of HR Employee Partner services.
- Partner with operations leaders on staffing requirements including hiring, promotions, transfers, and reductions‑in‑force.
- Model and ensure adherence to RTX values, ethics and compliance standards, and HR policies.
- Use data and insights to identify employee/labor trends and influence leadership decisions.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience
- Minimum 7 years of labor relations experience, including participation in collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration management, and advising leadership on labor law compliance.

- Proven ability to collaborate effectively and independently with individuals at all organizational levels, including executives.
- Strong knowledge of applicable federal and state employment and labor laws.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
