Director, HR Communications

The Role

Are you passionate about creating compelling stories and delivering engaging content that informs and inspires associates? As Director of HR Communications, you’ll have the opportunity to build strong relationships, grow, and deliver impact as you work closely with HR leaders to develop and implement strategic communications campaigns that support our various HR programs and initiatives. 

In this role, you will be a voice behind how we educate and equip associates to take full advantage of Fidelity’s investment in its benefits programs.

You will also be a contributor to the team’s 'One HR' communications strategy for each of the HR business functions. This includes support for talent and compensation programs and interim projects as assigned.

You will work within the Enterprise HR Communications team and collaborate day-to-day with other teams including Enterprise Content, Regional Communications, Creative Solutions, and the Fidelity Newsroom.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with 10+ years as a communications professional in internal/corporate communications; external communications a plus.

  • Exceptional writer, editor, and storyteller who can deliver communications that make the complex simple, and help associates feel connected and supported.

  • Ability to develop and execute complex internal communications strategies and campaigns to promote associate benefits, including health, retirement savings, , giving programs, and more.  

  • Create engaging content across various formats and channels – email, video, presentations, FAQs, intranet, newsletters, Viva Engage, etc. to achieve communication objectives.

  • Proven success building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and business partners. Ability to independently engage with internal business partners, provide strategic communications counsel, navigate complex stakeholder models, and effectively evolve strategies based on feedback.

  • Strong leadership, facilitation, decision-making and advocacy-building skills.

  • Strong project management skills. Organized and process-oriented with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fluid environment. Manage communication timelines and content for key initiatives such as new benefit launches and annual enrollment, with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to ensure communications materials align to desired tone, brand, and values and are inclusive and accessible.

  • Experience partnering with Analytics team to gather data on engagement and use insights to improve communication effectiveness.

The Team

The Enterprise HR Communications team strategically consults with HR leaders to deliver clear, associate-centric, and accessible communications that connect our associates to the company’s mission and values, educate and inspire meaningful engagement, and help associates build long-term careers at Fidelity.

This team is part of Fidelity’s Corporate Affairs function, which includes Communications, Government Relations and Public Policy, Community Affairs and Social Impact, and Diversity & Inclusion.
