This is a newly-created role for Dataminr, as we seek to streamline and further automate our corporate and external reporting. While starting small with one direct report, the vision is to scale out a larger team over time.
This is a US based role that is fully remote.

At Dataminr, we are over 600 talented individuals, spanning te global offices, united by our passion to use AI for the greater good and be agents of positive change in our company and in our communities.

We offer a competitive benefits package aimed at keeping you healthy and happy:

  • Generous PTO, flexible sick days and remote working options

  • Paid parental leave and family forming benefits

  • Mental health benefits and support

  • Company equity (RSUs)

As a global company, we hire talented, unique individuals of many backgrounds and life experiences, who are encouraged to be their authentic selves—and who support their team members to do the same. We strive to reflect the world and clients we serve, with a workforce built on merit and equity.

We stand for social good, fostering a culture of allyship, and standing up for those who face systemic barriers to equality. We lead with empathy and strive to be agents of positive change in our company and in our communities. We actively condemn racism and discrimination in any form.

At Dataminr, we value you for who you are. Our employees are empowered to be their best, authentic selves through various opportunities, such as our robust employee resource group (ERG) network, learning and development funds, and more.

The opportunity

We have some of the fundamentals in place (Snowflake snapshotting of key SFDC objects, Looker and other BI tools, etc.), and are looking for a leader to turn these components and others into action-driving insights and visibility.

  • Working with RevOps and GTM Leaders (Sales/CS/Marketing) to gain an understanding of our business, and develop/enhance a set of key KPIs that can be operationalized into one single space for wide-audience self-service.  Many of these are known and exist today, but are reported on an adhoc basis.

  • Engage with our Data Engineering team to design and build new Snowflake data sets, while owning the development of robust Looker dashboards that meet the needs of our internal leaders.

  • Develop close ties with our FP&A teams, and leverage our pre-existing bookings datamart to further streamline month/quarter/annual bookings reporting, ultimately transitioning this into real-time visibility.

  • Proactively identify data-driven insights in the business that can help minimize risks or allow us to further capitalize on opportunities in the market.

  • Serve as a general knowledge expert and resource on BI best practices, and strengthen our overall data governance where needed.

What you bring

At Dataminr, we value you for who you are. We encourage you to apply for this role, even if you don't meet every qualification. Our candidates are reviewed on the basis of their skill and potential to succeed.

  • BA/BS degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in BI/Analytics-based roles, preferably within Enterprise SaaS companies, and a proven track record of success in designing, building and maintaining high visibility data sets and dashboards.

  • Extensive knowledge of BI Tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.), with the personal understanding of how to build with and maximize their value.

  • An understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts, to effectively engage with our data engineering team

  • Experience with machine learning models, and bringing them to life in a way that drives action.

  • A “can-do” attitude, strong attention to detail, the ability to distill complex concepts into words that are easily understood by others, and an innate propensity to motivate and inspire others.
