Director, Global Total Rewards

Shape the Future of Total Rewards at Alteryx

At Alteryx, we're evolving how People & Culture creates value for the business. As part of our broader transformation strategy, we're reimagining Total Rewards to better connect the strong foundation established by an experienced team while shaping the future of Total Rewards through strategic leadership, operational excellence, and continuous innovation.

This is more than a traditional Total Rewards leadership role. The successful candidate will help shape a Total Rewards strategy that reflects where Alteryx (and its People & Culture organization) is headed, not where it has been. By building on the strengths of an experienced team, this leader will integrate compensation, benefits, technology, and the employee experience while leveraging AI, automation, and operational excellence to support future growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the global Total Rewards function, providing strategic leadership across Compensation and Benefits.

  • Develop and evolve an integrated Total Rewards strategy aligned to business priorities and Alteryx's Employee Value Proposition.

  • Partner with Talent Experience & Development leaders to ensure Total Rewards strategies reinforce the employee lifecycle by connecting performance, recognition, career growth, rewards, and retention into a cohesive employee experience.

  • Build trusted partnerships across People & Culture, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and AI & Transformation to align Total Rewards with enterprise priorities.

Benefits & Compensation Strategy

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Benefits function while ensuring operational excellence and an exceptional employee experience during a period of organizational evolution.

  • Assess future capability needs and recommend organizational enhancements that position the Total Rewards function to scale alongside the business.

  • Ensure benefit programs remain competitive, compliant, and aligned to the needs of a global workforce.

  • Lead annual compensation planning, market benchmarking, salary structures, incentive programs, and pay philosophy.

  • Partner with the HRBP and broader P&C team to evolve job architecture, market competitiveness, and reward strategies while building on existing technical expertise.

  • Support executive compensation and equity activities and governance in partnership with senior leadership as appropriate.

Operational Excellence & Transformation

  • Build and execute a roadmap to modernize Total Rewards operations through simplifying processes, leveraging technology, and evolving the Benefits operating model to meet changing business needs.

  • Partner with the AI & Transformation organization to improve systems, automation, workflows, and data quality.

  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to simplify work, improve employee and manager experiences, and increase organizational effectiveness.

People Leadership

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Total Rewards team by creating clarity, fostering collaboration, coaching leaders, and building future capabilities.

  • Lead the team through organizational evolution with transparency, trust, and a focus on continuous learning and innovation.

  • Develop future leaders through coaching, feedback, succession planning, and meaningful growth opportunities.

Success in the First 12 Months

  • Build strong relationships across People & Culture and key business partners.

  • Develop an integrated Total Rewards roadmap aligned with Alteryx's broader People transformation strategy.

  • Strengthen integration across Compensation, Benefits, Talent Experience, AI & Transformation, Finance, and Legal.

  • Position the Total Rewards function to meet the future needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience leading Compensation, Benefits, or Total Rewards in a complex organization.

  • Broad Total Rewards expertise with demonstrated success leading organizational transformation, operational excellence, or HR modernization initiatives.

  • Strong people leadership experience with a passion for developing teams and leading through change.

  • Experience leveraging technology, automation, analytics, or AI to improve business outcomes.

  • Strong executive presence with exceptional collaboration, communication, and influencing skills.
