The Director, Global Strategic Accounts will support the account penetration at the executive level within target organizations and grow our key pharmaceutical customer footprint throughout the customers key production and manufacturing facilities worldwide. Responsibility for customer development and sales will be focused in the North American and EMEA markets. The Director, Global Strategic Accounts will create the overall strategy, aligning Corporate and Regional account director resources to secure overall growth within strategic customer accounts. The selected candidate will develop both business and technical relationships at the senior / executive level within select accounts and in the various operating divisions of the company to plan and execute the segment strategy designed to maximize capture of share and revenue spend. The successful candidate will utilize their knowledge of industry trends to establish targeted customer solutions to achieve long-term business goals for both the customer and RMB.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Create and execute the a strategy for expanding our footprint at key accounts which incorporate regional level account goals, objectives and insights provided by Regional Sales Directors, Sales Ops, VP of Sales and CEO
- Build a clear commercial strategy for targeted expansion and standardization of our technology across global customer sites
- Coordinate selling activities (where appropriate)across all regions and partner with colleagues to align with both global and site level strategy
- Own and execute specific customer global growth initiatives, gain customer buy-in, and drive local execution by collaborating with Regional Sales Directors
- Build relationship maps within key accounts and foster relationship building between our key customers and RMD executive team
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize internal resources to ensure you have the right tools and information to execute on your deliverables
- Build and support the creation of financial assessments (ROI), as well as business caseco-development with customers in order to show Growth Direct benefits throughout customer manufacturing network
- Develop relationships at senior and executive levels within select accounts
- Create account leverage across the breadth of the portfolio
- Align specific proposals and offerings to company objectives by working with Regional Sales Directors, Sales Ops and Marketing
- Deploy creative initiatives such as multi-system deals, multi-site deals, and pricing rebates to drive the executive buy in towards significant improvement in investment made with RMB
- Lead all discussions on contracts and MSAs
- Conduct regular business updates (QBR’s) with key stakeholders within target customer list and participate in strategic meetings
- Delivers upon assigned account revenue targets on a quarterly and annual basis
PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- A minimum B.Sc. degree in a scientific discipline: microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering strongly preferred
- MBA or professional business education in addition highly desirable
- Minimum of 5-7 years as a senior level strategic account executive in the Pharmaceutical / CMO / CDMO life sciences space; global experience is highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, high-value accounts in a matrix environment
- Strong analytical skills and strong financial acumen
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed management and cross functional experience is preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Up to 50% travel is expected
- Frequent travel to the home office in Lexington, MA
