WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As our Innovation Testing Director of Nike’s Footwear Material and Mechanical Lab, you will be responsible for overseeing the M&M lab innovation testing group and ensuring timely testing of new innovations ranging from upper materials, cushioning systems to outsoles.   Your team will also be responsible for developing new testing methodologies and capabilities for Nike footwear which will be used both in the M&M Lab and abroad.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This position requires a leader with technical expertise who can ideate, anticipate, and innovate testing solutions while leading a team of test engineers through complex dynamic problems while collaboration in a fast-paced environment.  As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following key attributes: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
  • A minimum of 10 years directly relevant experience
  • Education or experience in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Biomechanics or similar technical field 
  • Experience in product design, creation, testing and engineering, or other similar function 
  • Experience with developing talent, teamwork and diversity
  • Experience with footwear innovation, creation, and manufacturing
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills 
  • Excellent collaboration and leadership skills 
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Demonstrated passion for innovation, product creation, excellence, and integrity
  • Ability to foresee, create, and execute strategic business plans
  • Ability to lead the team through sophisticated technical challenges 
  • Thrives in an environment with ambiguity and changing priorities 
  • Clearly communicate strategy and technical topics to diverse audiences at all levels

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will be expected to champion a team culture of collaboration with multiple Nike functions and partners such as product creation, Innovation, global sourcing and manufacturing, factories, and suppliers. You will also build the future of innovation testing and develop new strategies and solutions that result in superior products in the marketplace.

  • You must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, through an ability to deliver multiple solutions to complex problems and priorities.
  • You will collaborate with individuals across the business to build alignment with the various Nike teams and global partners, share the capabilities of product creation and testing as well as drive advancements in product creation, innovation, product excellence, and evaluation of Nike.
