As the Director of Finance, you'll develop growth strategies, oversee financial planning and analysis, and drive accounting operations while supporting the CEO in strategic initiatives.
We’re hiring an experienced Director of Finance to lead the financial strategy as Vocal Media scales aggressively into new markets, verticals, and M&A. This is not a traditional “keep-the-lights-on” finance role — you’ll be the CEO’s primary co-pilot for identifying, modeling, and executing multi-million-dollar growth bets.
If you’ve taken a services business from $20M → $50M+, built new verticals from scratch, or led the financial charge on a 7- or 8-figure deal, we want to talk.
Core Responsibilities – Revenue and Growth (60% of role)
- Architect and launch new revenue streams: build financial models, pricing frameworks, and go-to-market economics for new business lines and service offerings
- Lead financial due diligence, valuation, and integration planning for acquisitions and strategic partnerships;
- Create bulletproof business cases and ROI projections for every major growth initiative;
- Design scenario models for capital allocation, fundraising, and 3–5-year strategic plans;
- Translate unit economics, LTV, contribution margins, and competitive benchmarks into clear strategic recommendations;
- Present growth opportunities and financial narratives to the board, investors, and executive team.
Core Responsibilities – FP&A and Leadership (30% of role)
- Own forecasting, budgeting, and KPI dashboards across all business units;
- Drive pricing optimization and margin expansion initiatives;
- Serve as the go-to strategic advisor on profitability, scalability, and capital structure
Core Responsibilities – Accounting and Infrastructure (10% of role)
- Oversee accounting operations, external auditors, and compliance (supported by an external firm);
- Ensure scalable systems, controls, and processes as we grow 3–5x
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive finance experience; minimum 3 years in strategic finance, corporate development, or IB/PE
- Proven track record of building and scaling new revenue lines that added ≥$10M ARR (or equivalent impact)
- Master-level financial modeling (you can build a 3-statement LBO + revenue waterfall in your sleep)
- Deep agency / professional services economics expertise (utilization, realization, client concentration, etc.)
- Experience presenting to boards and investors; ability to distill complexity into compelling stories
- Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA or CPA strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Media, marketing, creator economy, or tech platform experience
- Closed 1–3 acquisitions or major partnerships end-to-end
- Private-equity, investment banking, or high-growth startup background
- Familiarity with digital content monetization and influencer marketing KPIs
Benefits
- Health insurance covered at 90% for full time employees; Dental and Vision available
- Unlimited PTO and sick leave
- 401(k) plan & company contribution
