The Team 

The Finance & Strategy team is an integral thought partner to Apollo’s core functional leaders. Our team partners closely with business leaders to drive understanding and consistency to Apollo’s financial results, and work cross-functionally to help improve strategic, financial, and operational decision-making at Apollo during a period of hyper-growth. 


What you’ll do

We are looking for a Finance & Strategy Director, reporting to the VP, Finance & Strategy, who will focus on partnering with our go-to-market teams to support our growing business. Not only will you play a central role in shaping and executing on our GTM planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes, but you will also be a key thought leader in assessing our go-to-market strategy. You will be the primary finance business partner to our go-to-market teams. You will help synthesize and consolidate key financial results and metrics to drive a unified understanding of business performance during a critical period of Apollo’s growth. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about making an impact.


Responsibilities:

  • Key thought leader on optimizing go-to-market strategies and assessing their efficiency
  • Partner with our CMO and CRO to drive growth and optimize performance of our GTM investments 
  • Develop frameworks to support investments; own financial performance and develop reporting to drive deeper understanding of the efficiency of our go-to-market channels (eg. ROAS, LTV:CAC, CAC Payback). 
  • Partner with our Sales Ops team on sales capacity planning, productivity, and compensation structures that optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Synthesize key go-to-market financial and business insights for leadership - including building frameworks for analyzing LTV, upsell opportunities, and market expansion strategies.
  • Support company-wide planning processes including Long Range Plan and Annual Plan, including guiding headcount and budget planning for sales, marketing, post-sales, customer success, and customer support teams, ensuring alignment with company growth and efficiency goals.
  • Translate business activities and key performance inputs into financial outputs that allow us to reason about return on investment of specific marketing channel tactics, trade off ROI of the next marginal dollar spent, and help optimize performance at a portfolio level
  • Support pricing and packaging workstreams including promotions and impact analysis of price changes as needed


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience including at least 5+ years in a F&S or strategic finance role at a high-growth company. Experience in investment banking or private equity is a plus 
  • Previous hands-on experience with go-to-market finance and strategy
  • High degree of comfort preparing professional, robust, bespoke financial analyses tailored to complex and ambiguous business situations
  • Is highly analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem-solving and a bias toward action
  • Strong working knowledge of finance and accounting principles
  • Strong business partnering and communication skills
  • Nice-to-have: Proficient in SQL and Looker, experience with PLG businesses and SaaS metrics
