  • Lead company-wide budgeting and forecasting (annual, quarterly, rolling).

  • Build financial models for revenue and headcount

  • Provide P&L visibility by service line, client, and project to identify margin opportunities.

  • Develop a pricing calculator and labor forecasting model to guide hiring and proposals.

  • Prepare and present monthly reports and dashboards with clear insights and recommendations.

Reporting & Insights

  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports to leadership with insights and recommendations.

  • Track key performance metrics (e.g., gross margin, revenue per employee, utilization, client profitability).

  • Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.

Financial Strategy

  • Partner with leadership to model growth scenarios and guide investment decisions.

  • Identify risks and opportunities to maintain healthy reserves and sustainable growth.

  • Build scalable systems, reports, and automations that improve speed and accuracy.

Primary KPIs
  • A/R days

  • Cash flow forecast accuracy (see below)

  • Timely month end and year end close

  • Timely annual budget completion

Who you are
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A, ideally with both Controller and strategic finance exposure in a consulting or knowledge services business

  • Experience with knowledge work utilization, billability, productivity calculations, etc.

  • Strong accounting foundation, comfortable managing books, budgets, and audits end-to-end

  • Proven ability to analyze data, model financial scenarios, and clearly communicate insights to leadership

  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen

  • Hands-on operator who builds efficient, scalable systems and excited about automation, AI, and modern finance tooling

  • Familiarity with remote team operations and international payments.

  • Has implemented and optimized financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, BI dashboards).

  • Experience in a marketing agency or professional services firm preferred.

  • CPA or CMA a plus, but not required.

  • You're not an asshole. We spend a lot of our days engaging with team members and clients. There's no room for assholes. You're friendly, eager to jump in and take ownership, and love to work as a team to be successful.
