The RoleWe're looking for a Head of Finance & Operations to own the financial and operational backbone of the company. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role where you'll build the systems and processes that allow us to scale.
You'll be our first dedicated hire in this function, reporting directly to the CEO. You'll touch everything from financial modeling and board reporting to HR operations and deal support. If you like building from scratch and hate being siloed, this is your role.
What You'll DoFinance: Own the company's financial model, forecasts, and key metrics. Manage AR/AP, monthly close, and cash. Build board materials and support fundraising. Partner with sales leadership on budgets and ROI analysis. Lead expense management and headcount planning. Partner with Pilot to ensure accurate bookkeeping.
Deals & Commissions: Be the finance point of contact for deal escalations—pricing, structure, and commercial terms. Support contract negotiations alongside Sales. Own quote-to-cash processes and sales commission calculations.
People Operations: Own Rippling (HRIS, payroll, benefits). Run onboarding and offboarding. Manage compensation benchmarking and equity administration. Support hiring managers with offer letters and compliance.
Business Operations: Provision software licenses and equipment for new hires. Manage IT inventory. Build dashboards and run ad-hoc analytics. Identify and fix operational bottlenecks before they become problems.
Who You Are4-7 years of experience in finance, operations, or a hybrid role at a high-growth startup (ideally Series A through C).
Strong financial modeling skills. You can build a board deck, a hiring plan, and a scenario analysis without hand-holding.
Comfortable with SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV) and how they connect to business decisions.
Experience with modern finance and HR tools (e.g., Rippling, Ramp, Claude Code, Salesforce).
A builder mentality. You'd rather create a process than follow one. You're energized by ambiguity, not paralyzed by it.
High attention to detail paired with the judgment to know when 80% is good enough.
High-impact role where you’ll shape the narrative of a fast-scaling ed-tech AI startup.
Work closely with leadership and GTM teams to drive market success.
Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits package.
Hybrid-friendly work environment with flexibility on remote work.
Work Authorization: We are currently unable to sponsor or transfer work authorization for all jobs. If things change in the future, we'll be sure to update this section.
We appreciate your interest in Edia. Feel free to follow us on LinkedIn to learn more about what we're doing to improve education outcomes in the US.
