The Role

The Director of FI Commercial Discovery is responsible for connecting the dots across insights, strategy, and execution to uncover and activate new revenue opportunities. By partnering closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams, this role drives the discovery, testing, and scaling of commercial initiatives for Fidelity Institutional while deepening client understanding through structured intelligence efforts.

Your primary area of focus in this role will be to lead the full lifecycle of commercial experimentation, from idea generation and test design to execution and analysis. You will be a strategic connector, linking insights, business needs, and market dynamics to uncover untapped commercial opportunities. It will be essential to use market insights to inform commercial ideation and ensure initiatives are grounded in real client needs and behaviors.

You will:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to co-create and implement revenue-generating initiatives, embedding them into existing processes, optimizing workflows, or launching new programs.

  • Collaborate across business functions to drive innovative but also executable and scalable ideas to action.

  • Expand and mature the constellation of client listening posts to generate actionable insights. Includes partnering with Specialist Team insight delivery process to pull intelligence into cycle of thought leadership development.

  • Support dynamic profiling efforts to improve segmentation, personalization, and client engagement strategies.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred with 10+ years of business development, product management, consulting or related experience within the financial services industry

  • Bring an intrapreneurial and client-centric approach with experience building new capabilities within established organizations

  • Strong understand of the intermediary and institutional financial markets, investment products and distribution channels

  • Ability to lead through partnership and influence across functions. Experience driving alignment with client-facing associates including sales and relationship managers, marketing and product teams.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives and drive them to completion.

  • Proven ability to move from concept to action, even in environments with limited direct control.

  • You can work with ambiguity and uncertainty, uncover opportunities through data analysis and analytics and identify market opportunities and unmet client needs

  • Proficiency in survey design, client feedback tools, analysis techniques, business statistics and insight generation
