Job Description
BAE Systems Inc is a mission-driven aerospace and defense company delivering advanced technologies and solutions in support of national security, space, and defense operations. We are seeking a highly strategic, operationally focused Chief of Staff to partner directly with the President and executive leadership team to drive execution, alignment, and organizational effectiveness across the enterprise.
What You'll Do:
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the President, providing strategic insight, analysis, and recommendations on key initiatives and decisions.
  • Strategically supervise the President's time/schedule, working with the President's EA, to determine priorities.
  • Prepare President for upcoming meetings by ensuring they have the information necessary to be productive and engaged.
  • Coordinate executive leadership team meetings, operating reviews, and off-sites; ensure clear decisions, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Coordinate with BAE Systems INC to prepare monthly and quarterly executive-level briefings, board materials, and annual objective setting.
  • Maintain consistent and effective procedures for coordinating SMS, INC, and PLC level RBA meetings.
  • Serve as liaison between staff, executives, senior leaders, and leadership, serving as a conduit for executive insight into company culture, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and propose the creation of new systems and processes for optimized efficiency and productivity.
  • Improve operating rhythms, governance, and decision-making processes in a fast-paced A&D environment.
  • Participate with the Executive team in strategic planning, policy development, and decision-making.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications.
  • Develop and manage the President's office overhead budget.
  • Lead for maintaining executive level documentation to present during annual AS9100 audit
  • Oversee cross-functional initiatives from development to successful execution by bringing together important stakeholders and driving decisions.
  • Track progress against strategic objectives, KPIs, and major programs; proactively identify risks and mitigation plans.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working four days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Short-Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 12 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • 8-12+ years of progressive experience in aerospace, defense, government contracting, or a similarly complex, regulated industry.
  • Prior experience in strategy, operations, program management, consulting, or a Chief of Staff-type role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage competing priorities at the executive level.
  • Solid business judgment, analytical skills, and executive communication capabilities.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Familiarity with DoD, IC, or classified program environments.
  • Active U.S. security clearance (Secret or Top Secret preferred).

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $157911 - $268449
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
