PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $199,300.00-$243,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $155,200.00 - $288,000.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, NC, VA, CA, or SC. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.  For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.  

 

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE 

 

As the Director of Enterprise Program & Project Management (EPMO), you'll shape BECU's success by leading a high-performing team of program and project managers. Your mission is to align people, processes, and tools to deliver strategic initiatives with excellence — on time and on budget. You'll bring executive presence, courage of leadership, and a sharp business lens to drive high-stakes programs across the enterprise. Whether it's navigating regulatory work, advancing Agile delivery, or holding stakeholders accountable, you'll be a key player in enabling transformation and building operational excellence. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

 

  • Lead a High-Performing Team: Inspire, coach, and develop a team of Program and Project Managers delivering high-impact, enterprise-wide initiatives. 

  • Oversee Complex Programs: Direct the delivery of projects that span multiple business lines, ensuring outcomes are timely, scoped, and financially sound. 

  • Budget & Financial Stewardship: Manage project and program budgets, ensuring financial reconciliation and accuracy. 

  • Scope and Plan Delivery: Partner with Technology and business leaders to define requirements, build project plans, and align resources. 

  • Advance Frameworks & Practices: Drive maturity of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models in collaboration with the Enterprise Agility team. 

  • Provide Executive-Level Reporting: Keep leaders informed with actionable insights on project risks, progress, and strategic alignment. 

  • Navigate Risks & Roadblocks: Lead the issue resolution process and influence executive stakeholders when pivots are required. 

  • Champion Change Management: Oversee organizational change tied to EPMO initiatives, processes, and standards. 

  • Uplift Team Culture & Performance: Mentor and support staff, conduct timely performance evaluations, and foster a learning environment.

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Minimum Qualifications  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related field—or equivalent. 

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership experience in program, project, or portfolio management, including at least 5 years managing people and building high-performing teams. 

  • Strong executive presence with proven ability to influence and redirect senior leaders when needed. 

  • Understanding of software development processes with hands-on experience in Waterfall, Scrum, and project management methodologies.  

  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile principles, along with demonstrated success in both short-range (1 year) and long-range (3–5 year) strategic planning. 

  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-stakes product or program initiatives. 

  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to dive deep into complex information and convey it clearly to diverse audiences; demonstrates a bias for action and earns trust through clear, effective communication. 

 

Desired Qualifications 

 

  • Advanced degree. 

  • FI experience preferred: banks, service provider, or credit union. 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
