The Role:
We are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead and grow Digible’s technical organization. You will be responsible for all of Engineering — both today’s team and the future teams and leaders we’ll need as we scale. This role is central to shaping the structure, practices, and culture of Engineering at Digible, ensuring strong execution in the present while building for long-term growth and impact.
This person will report to the CTO and work closely with the SVP of Product & Strategy, Data Manager, Product Managers, and other Digible department leaders. The ideal candidate understands the business impact of technical decisions and excels at bridging the gap between technology and business strategy.
The role is primarily focused on organizational leadership, grounded in technical expertise. It requires someone who can design the systems and practices that elevate engineering execution across our teams — someone who can step into technical discussions, command an incident, or evaluate a complex decision when needed, but whose core responsibility is building a high-performing engineering organization aligned with Digible’s business strategy. This role requires a self-directed leader who can zoom between tactical execution and strategic planning, enabling Digible to scale effectively without losing momentum.
You’ll love this job if you:
- Have a customer-first mentality
- Thrive on building and scaling high-performing teams that solve business problems
- Care deeply about developing people and organizations, and energize others by creating clarity, alignment, and momentum
- Enjoy building strong partnerships across business, product, and agency leaders
- Celebrate watching your teams grow, succeed, and deliver meaningful impact
- Are comfortable digging into the technical details when needed
- Continuously seek ways to increase effectiveness, including leveraging AI and modern tooling for yourself and your teams
What you’ll do:
- Own and evolve the Engineering organization at Digible, including current teams (~8 engineers) and future growth (doubling in size)
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Agency, and other business leaders
- Champion a Product Mindset and customer-first orientation within Engineering
- Mentor, coach, and develop managers and engineers, creating an environment where people thrive and leaders are built
- Lead team expansion over the next 12–24 months, including hiring additional managers and scaling headcount through FTEs as well as contractors
- Ensure successful delivery against team commitments and company goals
- Influence and guide technical designs to ensure alignment with business strategy
- Drive organization-wide improvements to engineering execution, processes, and culture, balancing speed, quality, and sustainability
- Build the systems and structures that enable Engineering to scale effectively, including operational and quality best practices
What you should have:
- 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 4–5 years in management roles, including managing other managers
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale technical organizations
- Experience balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution in dynamic environments
- Proven track record of leading product engineering teams in close partnership with Product Managers and Designers
- Strong management skills, including hiring, performance management, and leadership development
- Outcome-oriented approach, aligning team success with business impact, emphasizing speed to results
- Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence, with the ability to adapt style to different audiences
- Experience with software design and architecture, with the judgment to evaluate trade-offs and guide technical decision-making
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
This role is open to candidates located within the United States.
