At Carrum Health, we have built a unique marketplace for specialty care with unparalleled patient experience

Since 2014, we have been rewiring a fundamentally broken healthcare system. By connecting large employers directly with the nation's top-tier providers, our platform replaces a flawed fee-for-service model with one that actually works. If you are passionate about solving complex economic problems, driving systemic change in our healthcare system, and thriving in a people-first culture, we want you on our team. As a high-growth health tech company, we are seeking high-performing, exceptional talent to scale our platform and ensure that anyone in the country facing a specialty procedure has access to the life-changing Carrum benefit.

Our marketplace creates massive value for all stakeholders:

  • For Employers (Demand): Predictable, transparent pricing that slashes specialty care costs by up to 45% and eliminates waste

  • For Providers (Supply): Ability to gain market share while reducing administrative burden, empowering top-tier doctors to focus completely on delivering optimal care.

  • For Members (Users): A life-changing benefit with dedicated concierges, VIP access to the nation's best specialists, and little-to-no out-of-pocket costs.

The salary range for this role is $190,000–$210,000 depending on geography and level of experience, plus equity and an annual bonus.

We are looking for a Director, Engagement Marketing to help us redefine how we engage covered populations and unlock unprecedented benefit adoption across our employer network. The Director, Engagement Marketing will play a critical role in our success.

Reporting to the Head of Growth Marketing, you will own the end-to-end member engagement strategy across our full relationship-client book (275+ accounts) and be crucial in pioneering innovative B2B2C marketing playbooks, scaling adoption through creative activation channels, and elevating our strategic voice with HR and benefits leaders; helping us ensure that our campaigns captivate members, move people from awareness to action, and deliver exceptional ROI within complex employer ecosystems. You’ll be responsible for building a world-class team of Engagement Marketing Managers, driving high-impact growth strategy, and turning behavioral insights into breakthrough campaigns that fundamentally change how patients access care. You’ve hustled, you’ve created, you’ve implemented, and you love the intensity of a startup in high-growth mode.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will...

  • Architect the overarching engagement strategy across relationship clients spanning three distinct patient-source sub-units: client best practices (including new launches), ecosystem partners, and embedded client partnerships.

  • Drive growth strategy and innovation, experimenting with novel messaging, precision segmentation, multi-channel tactics, and practical AI tools to reach members at critical healthcare decision points.

  • Elevate partner and relationship marketing, serving as a senior strategic thought partner to employer HR leaders, benefits consultants, and ecosystem partners to position Carrum as an indispensable, high-utilization benefit.

  • Build, empower, and mentor a high-performing team of Engagement Marketing Managers and a Coordinator, transforming the function into a center of strategy, creativity, and performance excellence.

  • Connect behavioral data to dynamic execution, overseeing a responsive account-pacing model that flags population engagement opportunities early and deploys targeted, high-converting marketing solutions.

  • Regularly collaborate with leadership across Client Success, Content & Creative, Operations, Data, and Product to build unified, friction-free patient conversion funnels.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You bring a rich background of leading integrated marketing strategy, partner marketing, and high-growth B2B2C engagement programs in fast-scaling environments. We hope to see from you:

    • Strategic GTM & Partner Marketing: Proven track record of designing and launching bold integrated campaigns in complex B2B2C environments, turning employer access into deep member adoption.

    • Marketing Tech & Data Fluency: Strong skills working with Salesforce, Braze, or modern marketing automation engines, leveraging behavioral signals, utilization data, and audience segmentation to drive strategy.

    • Leadership & Team Elevation: 8+ years of client-facing marketing, growth strategy, or account management leadership experience—healthcare, digital health, HR tech, or benefits technology preferred.

    • Outcomes-Driven Mindset: Relentless focus on activation, registrations, and ROI rather than vanity metrics, with a proven ability to codify winning strategies into scalable playbooks.

    • Resourcefulness & Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate intricate client environments, regulatory parameters, and employer constraints with ingenuity and speed—finding creative paths to captivate populations without slowing down momentum.

    • High-Stakes Leadership: Experience guiding teams through critical seasonal launches, open enrollment pushes, or strategic client expansion initiatives.

    • Autonomy & Strategic Alignment: Ability to operate with high autonomy and visionary leadership while building strong alignment with a Head of Growth Marketing who is deeply invested in scaling this function.

    • Entrepreneurial and resourceful — you’re a visionary problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.

    • Experience handling deadlines, keeping many balls in the air, and prioritizing work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    • Passion for collaborating cross-functionally with sales, operations, client success, data, content, and product teams to ideate, complete projects, and drive impactful results.

Why you’ll love working with us...

  • We’re a hard-working, humble, and compassionate group motivated to solve the hard problems in healthcare today. You’ll work with talented, experienced co-workers from companies like Booz & Company, Teladoc, Hinge Health, Accolade, Angi, and Optum.

  • We champion a collaborative environment where team members can be autonomous, receive support and healthy feedback, and bring their authentic selves to work.

  • We carve out time to celebrate our successes and have fun. We’re a remote-first company with employees all over the United States. We offer holistic employee support with flexible working hours, generous time off, paid parental leave, opportunities to connect virtually and in-person, and more.

  • We embrace our team’s diversity of thought, experience, and interests and know that doing so makes us stronger as a company. Carrum has an active employee-led Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) committee alongside several employee resource groups (ERGs) that support parents, women, and various underrepresented groups.

  • You’ll feel proud that the work you do each day directly impacts people’s lives in big and meaningful ways.

  • Carrum is remote-first, but we believe the best work often happens in person. This role may include occasional travel for team offsites, client events, or company gatherings.

Other benefits:

  • Stock option plan and performance bonus for eligible employees

  • Flexible schedules and remote work

  • Chicago and San Francisco offices available as an option

  • Flexible PTO, within reason

  • Summer Fridays (sign off @ 1pm local time)

  • 15+ paid holidays, including Juneteenth, World Mental Health Day, and Carrum Health Day

  • Annual holiday shutdown in December

  • Paid parental leave

  • Health, vision, and dental insurance

  • Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)

  • 401K retirement plan
