Job Description:

This position is responsible for contributing to the design, development, and growth of Vertex’s global partner ecosystem in alignment with our market strategy. The Director will lead the design and management of Vertex’s Alliance Partner Program, leveraging established relationships with top-tier consulting and technology partners to drive mutually beneficial global strategies and outcomes. 

A critical requirement for this role is previous experience at a Big 4 consulting firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) or Accenture, ideally at the Principal or Partner level, with a proven track record of building and executing go-to-market strategies with consulting services. 

The Director will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new alliance relationships, collaborating cross-functionally to achieve revenue goals, and providing strategic leadership on new market opportunities. This role requires a seasoned leader who can influence executive stakeholders, drive measurable business outcomes, and expand Vertex’s presence in partnership with global consulting firms.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the design and execution of a global go-to-market strategy with Alliance partners (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, Accenture) focusing on executive relationships, revenue growth, joint marketing, and solution development. 
  • Leverage deep Big 4/Accenture networks and experience to expand Vertex’s strategic partnerships and develop collaborative sales motions that accelerate revenue growth. 
  • Identify and pursue new alliance relationships to enhance Vertex’s partner ecosystem. 
  • Provide thought leadership and market insights to shape Vertex’s alliance strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise-level objectives. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate partner strategies into measurable business results. 
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team, including hiring, resource allocation, performance management, and career development. 
  • Represent Vertex in executive-level partner discussions, industry forums, and events. 
  • Ensure alignment of partner initiatives with corporate goals and revenue targets. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and lead an effective alliance leadership team, fostering growth and development. 
  • Define annual KPIs aligned with corporate goals and hold leaders accountable for results. 
  • Drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high engagement. 
  • Lead change management initiatives to enhance efficiency and partner impact. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • Previous experience at a Big 4 consulting firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) or Accenture is required. 
  • Expertise with partner ecosystems in enterprise SaaS, including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, Workday, or similar platforms. 
  • Deep understanding of global consulting firm business models, decision-making processes, and go-to-market motions. 
  • Proven ability to establish and expand high-impact alliance relationships that drive joint revenue. 
  • Strong executive presence with experience influencing C-level stakeholders at consulting firms and enterprise software companies. 
  • Exceptional project management, strategic planning, and financial analysis skills. 
  • Ability to travel globally (50%+). 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred. 
  • CPA or other relevant certifications a plus. 
  • 12+ years in business development, strategic alliances, or partner management. 
  • 10+ years of leadership experience building and leading global teams.

Pay Transparency Statement:

US Base Salary Range: $189,600.00 - $246,400.00

Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.

In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
