Blink is looking for a Director of Recruiting to join our Embedded Staffing team. Blink Embedded works with our largest clients to provide high‑quality UX research and design talent directly into their teams - strategically expanding Blink’s services.

Our Director of Recruiting plays a dual role of Client Partner and Recruiter - working from initial intake to final candidate negotiations to place talent. This person leads full‑cycle recruiting for Embedded roles and serves as a trusted partner to our clients - juggling multiple searches, nurturing key accounts with exceptional care, and ensuring every placement meets the high bar our clients expect.

We’re looking for someone with deep recruiting expertise, a love for client services, and a steadiness and strategic prowess to thrive in an environment where priorities shift quickly, and client needs evolve in real time.

A note about location: Blink has offices in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Texas, and Washington. We are a remote-friendly work environment, however and are able to hire full-time employees outside of these states as well.

What you'll be doing:

  • Recruiting
  • Lead full lifecycle recruiting across multiple, simultaneous embedded roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, assessment, offers, and closing.
  • Build strong, diverse talent pipelines across UX research, design, and related creative/tech disciplines.
  • Deliver a high‑touch, human, transparent candidate experience from first contact to onboarding.
  • Negotiate initial talent rates and any necessary promotion or extension rates with clients and talent.
  • Write and post clear, compelling job descriptions that reflect client needs and Blink’s standards.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation within the applicant tracking system (Lever).
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with placed talent, acting as a positive cultural touchpoint from the Blink team.
  • Client Services
  • Manage multiple client relationships with professionalism, empathy, and exceptional service.
  • Maintain proactive communication with client stakeholders, ensuring alignment, clarity of expectations, and accurate visibility into recruiting progress.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to clients on talent markets, compensation, role framing, timelines, and hiring best practices.
  • Anticipate issues early and resolve them collaboratively and calmly, maintaining trust and continuity.
  • Sales Partnership
  • Partner with Blink Business Development to evaluate, scope, and qualify new embedded opportunities.
  • Bring the recruiter lens to sales conversations, advising on feasibility, pricing, required skills, and timeline.
  • Act as a problem‑solver and internal collaborator, removing roadblocks, spotting patterns, and supporting the growth of the Embedded program.

What we are looking for:

  • 7+ years of full‑cycle recruiting experience in a staffing or agency environment supporting creative, UX, or technical roles.
  • Strong understanding of user research, UX design, visual design, and adjacent talent markets.
  • Proven ability to juggle a high volume of requisitions and client interactions without sacrificing quality or warmth.
  • A service‑oriented mindset. A commitment to providing amazing experiences to candidates, clients, and internal partners.
  • A track record of personal accountability, responsiveness, and thoughtful communication.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous environments; skilled at bringing order, clarity, and calm to the work.
  • Experience collaborating directly with client stakeholders and/or navigating Vendor Management Systems (a plus).
  • High integrity, empathy, and ethical judgment — especially when navigating sensitive or high‑pressure situations.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
