The Job:  

As a Director, DEWALT, North America, you’ll be part of the Tools & Outdoor Commercial DEWALT team driving key initiatives within the DEWALT portfolio for North America. Reporting to the DEWALT Regional Brand President & GM, you will own the end-to-end strategy, execution, and performance of the DEWALT category. You will collaborate cross-functionally to drive category growth, deliver market-leading product launches, and ensure commercial success across all channels.

This position is based in our Tools & Outdoor headquarters in Towson, Maryland, with remote locations considered.

You’ll get to:  

  • Develop and execute category and brand strategies aligned with overall DEWALT and regional objectives and market insights.
  • Own the category P&L, monitor and optimize performance, and report insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure consistent brand presence, positioning, and representation across North American channels of Retail, Commercial & Industrial and Farm & Hardware.
  • Lead the end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) process, from ideation through successful market launch.
  • Oversee excellence in regional new product launches, ensuring flawless execution and market readiness.
  • Identify and communicate specific regional requirements to global product teams.
  • Manage product forecasting and Sales & Operations Planning to ensure supply alignment and commercial success in the region.
  • Support sales growth strategies with commercial teams through strong partnerships both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with global and regional teams to localize and activate category initiatives and ensure new products meet customer and commercial needs.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and accountability for NPD milestones, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Oversee product lifecycle management, including forecasting, supply alignment, and end-of-life planning to maximize category performance in North America.
  • Drive adoption and execution of focused trade plans to maximize category growth and DEWALT market share.
  • Collaborate with Americas Marketing to localize and activate brand campaigns.
  • Ensure delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual business objectives, reporting progress
  • Foster a culture of learning, agility, and high performance within the category team, mentoring and developing talent.
  • Ensure best-in-class service levels for customers by supporting cross-functional teams and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

The Person:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in product management, category management, channel marketing or brand leadership within consumer durables, tools, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of driving category growth, launching successful products, and managing P&L accountability.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret market trends and customer insights.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects in a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of go-to-market strategies across multiple channels (Retail, eCommerce, Independent, etc.).
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management, including forecasting, supply alignment, and end-of-life planning.
  • Ability to mentor, develop, and inspire high-performing teams, fostering a culture of learning and agility.
  • Deep understanding of end-user needs, market dynamics, and competitive landscape within the relevant industry.
