Our mission is to protect the devices the world relies on by relentlessly innovating to deliver an unparalleled digital insurance experience. AKKO enables partners and their end-users with modern and seamless protection solutions. We've become the #1 ranked provider in our space with industry- leading reviews and NPS scores.

With rapid growth and a fully remote team fueled by passion, innovation, and collaboration, we’re just getting started. Our investors—led by Mundi, Fika, and Pear—bring the same conviction that helped power companies like Doordash, Gusto, wefox, and Pipe.

AKKO is seeking a Director of Device Logistics to own and optimize the critical flow of devices across our repair, retail and 3PL partner ecosystems. This person will drive improvements in our device logistics strategy to help us reduce costs, increase efficiency, and support the long-term success of our growing network.

Reporting to the VP of Customer Success, and working closely with our Claims, Repair, and Operations teams, this role will focus on improving net operating capital by negotiating better net terms for repair shop accounts payable (AP), and by enhancing claims efficiency across the network. We’re looking for someone who brings deep industry knowledge, strong partner and vendor relationships, and the ability to create scalable systems in a fast-moving, startup environment.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

  • Own and evolve our device logistics strategy to support our network of partners and drive business performance.
  • Analyze and improve claims processes to ensure smooth, accurate, and timely repair, replacement, and fulfillment workflows.
  • Build out repeatable, scalable operational processes, including SOPs for device procurement, return logistics, warranty claims, and more.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for repair vendors and logistics partners, deepening relationships and unlocking long-term value.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Customer Success, Sales, Operations, and Finance to align priorities, risks, and accelerate execution.
  • Monitor vendor performance, logistics SLAs, and key metrics to inform process improvements and partner evaluations.
  • Negotiate favorable net payment terms and pricing with repair vendors and distributors to improve cash flow and working capital efficiency.
  • Help shape the roadmap for logistics tooling, workflow automation, and internal tracking systems in collaboration with Product & Ops.

WHAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED

  • 5+ years of experience in  device logistics, reverse logistics, or operations, ideally in the wireless, repair, or consumer electronics space.
  • Brings a strong network and industry relationships across the repair, wholesale, 3PL and broader device logistics landscape.
  • Proven track record of successful vendor negotiations and AP term improvements.
  • Highly organized and operationally strong, able to track field data and communicate learnings across internal teams with experience building and scaling processes from the ground up.
  • An all-around team player and fast, self-directed learner who thrives in a collaborative fast-paced environment and adapts quickly.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to balance instincts with structured analysis to inform decision-making.

The base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $125,000 with performance-based incentives including bonuses and/or commission. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
