Job Purpose and Impact
The Director, Data Management and Governance will lead a team responsible for ensuring accurate, secure and effective use of the organization's data. This role provides guidance to the team that develops and implements comprehensive data policies, data management and governance capabilities and ensures regulatory compliance while aligning data management and governance strategies to business objectives.
Key Accountabilities
  • Defines and delivers broad data management and governance strategies aligned with current and long-term organizational goals
  • Oversees the development, documentation and governance of complex data frameworks & standards to ensure overall consistency and quality across data domains, and that policies are applied.
  • Defines a data quality vision and strategy within enterprise or function to deliver data that is fit for purpose, operationalizing organizational alignment to lead data quality with intention and focus, and ensures that data quality strategies are aligned with business priorities and organizational focus.
  • Leads the creation of data governance policies that help maintain data integrity ensuring data practices align with organizational goals, and frameworks that define how data is collected, stored, accessed, processed and shared.
  • Leads teams of process and data authorities to define the lifecycle guardrails for how data domains must be handled and governed from birth to death, adhering to regulations and policies while also serving as a change agent for where practices need great definition and maturity.
  • Leads the development of data governance, risk and compliance processes and controls to identify improvements and mitigate risk and align with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversees training programs to ensure improved organizational literacy, compliance to data standards and policies and effective communication of accountability for data responsibilities.
  • Manages team members to achieve the organization's goals, by ensuring productivity, communicating performance expectations, creating goal alignment, giving and seeking feedback, providing coaching, measuring progress and holding people accountable, supporting employee development, recognizing achievement and lessons learned, and developing enabling conditions for talent to thrive in an inclusive team culture.

Qualifications
  • Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 10 years or more of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading global cross functional governance programs
  • Established operating models and programs to mature data quality and compliance
  • Built and led high performing organizations
  • Sponsored transformational programs that spanned organizational and/or functional boundaries
  • Experienced at articulating the importance of data governance to senior leaders to articulate business value & risk
  • Familiar with implementation or use of data governance and management technologies

Minnesota Based Applicant Information
This role is based out of Wayzata, Minnesota.
The expected salary for this position is $130,000-$220,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.
