We’re seeking a Director, Creative Operations to join Resident’s internal creative agency. While embedded within Resident, this role will be dedicated to supporting the Ashley Home business, ensuring our creative output drives brand growth, engagement, and conversion across channels.
This position will shape the strategy, structure, and processes that power our in-house creative team—balancing operational excellence with the flexibility to enable breakthrough ideas. The ideal candidate brings strategic vision, operational rigor, and a passion for collaboration, building systems that empower creativity while driving efficiency. With an impeccable eye for detail, a strong editorial sensibility, and a people-first leadership style, this leader will guide the team to deliver impactful, high-quality work that inspires customers and strengthens Ashley Home’s brand presence.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to the creative team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth
- Oversee creative development across all channels—retail environments, POP, digital, paid media, social, email, and beyond—ensuring excellence, consistency, and impact
- Partner closely with the Creative Director to evolve and uphold brand guidelines while driving forward-thinking creative strategies that elevate Ashley Home in the marketplace
- Audit, refine, and implement workflows and processes that enhance efficiency, scalability, and cross-functional collaboration
- Develop and standardize creative toolkits, templates, and best practices to enable consistency and efficiency across teams
- Lead the evolution of brand systems, ensuring they resonate with consumers and differentiate in the competitive home furnishings space
- Leverage performance insights, consumer behavior, and market trends to continuously optimize creative strategies for stronger engagement and conversion
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Marketing, Merchandising, Retail Operations, and external vendors to deliver seamless execution at scale
- Manage multiple projects and timelines with precision, balancing strategic priorities with creative excellence
- Present and advocate for creative concepts to senior leadership and stakeholders with clarity, confidence, and influence
- Stay at the forefront of design, retail, and home furnishings trends, integrating new ideas, materials, and technologies into creative execution
- Occasional travel to support retail initiatives, vendor partnerships, or team collaboration
Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of progressive creative/brand experience, including 4+ years leading in-house or agency teams within retail, consumer goods, or home furnishings
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Marketing, or related field (advanced degree a plus)
- Proven track record of driving creative strategies that deliver measurable business impact across retail, digital, and omnichannel environments
- Strong expertise in brand identity, systems, and strategy, with the ability to translate consumer insights and market dynamics into compelling creative direction
- Deep knowledge of print production, retail environments, and vendor management, ensuring quality execution at scale
- Proficiency in modern design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite); strong ability to lead collaborative design processes across functions
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills; able to influence senior leadership and inspire cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated success in building and mentoring high-performing creative teams while fostering innovation and operational excellence
- Highly organized, with strong project management capabilities and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
- Curious, future-focused mindset; embraces innovation, new technologies (including AI), and emerging trends in design and consumer experience
- Experience in the interiors, furniture, or lifestyle industries strongly preferred
- Able and willing to do occasional travel for on-site meetings
