Position:Director, Contracting Strategy

Position Summary:The Director, Contracting Strategy is a key leadership role responsible for leading a significant portion of our provider contracting operations and driving best-in-class negotiation outcomes. This leader will manage a team of contracting positions overseeing the execution of complex contracting strategies and developing the team's talent pipeline. The ideal candidate will bring deep operational leadership and a proven track record of success in managed care contracting, with strongly preferred experience in Medicaid/SNP and other government programs.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct leadership and mentorship to contracting team, guiding them in their management of our most complex, high-stakes negotiations.
  • Oversee the execution of the team's negotiation strategy, ensuring that financial targets and strategic objectives for value-based arrangements are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and point of escalation for complex contracting models, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory requirements, particularly those related to government programs.
  • Drive accountability for team performance by establishing clear goals, KPIs, and operational dashboards.
  • Partner with the Senior Director to develop and refine the multi-year strategic plan for the contracting function.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in managed care contracting, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience with Medicaid, Special Needs Plans (SNPs), and/or other government healthcare programs is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing contracting teams and a demonstrated ability to develop talent.
  • Experience managing people managers is highly desirable.
  • Expert-level knowledge of complex reimbursement structures, risk-based payment models, and provider network strategy.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in normal office working conditions.

Pay Transparency:

Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay rate include your specific skills, experience, qualifications, location, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to the base salary, certain roles may qualify for a performance-based incentive and/or equity, with eligibility depending on the position. These rewards are based on a combination of company performance and individual achievements.

The hiring range for this position is:

$133,200.00-$180,900.00
