About the role

At Swoop, client excellence isn’t the responsibility of a single department; it’s a company-wide commitment. Client Strategy is a dedicated resource focused on turning that commitment into action, helping our most important client partnerships reach their fullest potential.

We are looking for a Director, Client Strategy who brings strategic thinking and data-informed judgment to growth opportunities at the intersection of business strategy, narrative, and solution packaging. This person understands a partner’s business objectives, assesses market and performance signals, and shapes the right recommendation from the full range of Swoop’s capabilities. They can distinguish the real opportunity from the initial request, make thoughtful decisions about where to use existing solutions or configure something new, and connect recommendations to measurable business and health outcomes. They can also translate complex data, capabilities, and market realities into a focused, persuasive point of view, turning strategy into a story a client partner can see themselves in while helping a client understand the value, rationale, and path forward.

This is a role for someone who brings both the discipline and curiosity of strategy: someone who can diagnose the opportunity, develop a practical recommendation, and help move it toward action. At the same time, they must balance partner needs, end-user value, commercial realities, and long-term scalability while connecting the work to the outcomes it ultimately drives for patients and their health.

How We See Partnership

The brands we work with are partners, not just clients, and the people at the heart of it all are the consumers and patients navigating their health. That’s what makes this work matter beyond any single pitch: when we help a partner make better decisions and achieve stronger business outcomes, we can also help create more relevant support and better experiences for the people they serve.

This role will help define how Swoop shows up in some of its most important growth moments, keeping that bigger picture in view while connecting market reality, partner ambition, and internal capability. It’s for someone who loves the art and discipline of strategy, who can hear the brief behind the brief, and who can create work that is sharp, persuasive, and actionable, all while helping build a team known for both creativity and results.

Success is not simply a compelling presentation. It is a recommendation grounded in the partner’s business, informed by data and context, and designed to create durable value for both the partner and the people at the center of the work.

What This Role Owns

Customization here is thoughtful and disciplined. The best solutions sit at the intersection of a partner’s business needs and end-user health outcomes, and they are built to last, designed with scalability and long-term value in mind rather than as one-off fixes. This role brings the judgment to know the difference and to guide partners toward solutions that hold up over time.

  • Turning approved corporate, product, and sales marketing materials into standout configured or custom pitches across Swoop-wide solutions for our top opportunities
  • Developing proactive solution ideas and growth angles that support the Sales SVP’s account strategy across all client growth opportunities
  • Surfacing net-new or newly configured offerings when partner needs and market conditions warrant it
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to keep our highest-stakes opportunities strategically strong, commercially sound, and aligned
  • Continuously evolving how the team works, including how we develop and advance AI as part of the team

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with Sales client SVPs, SME division leads, and other commercial leaders on top-tier client strategy and high-priority growth opportunities.
  • Lead the creation of configured and custom materials for innovation days, executive meetings, top client renewals, and other high-value partner conversations.
  • Represent ideas and recommendations directly in partner-facing settings, in partnership with Sales, who leads the relationship and the pitch.
  • Listen across the collective client team, synthesize competing viewpoints, and turn them into clear strategic recommendations.
  • Transform performance data and other business intelligence from raw numbers into clear, actionable insight. Determine what to ask next and turn evidence into recommendations and actions that advance a partner’s objectives.
  • Recommend the right path forward: where to use existing assets, where to configure, where to customize, and where to challenge the brief to set the partner and team up for success.
  • Push back effectively when needed, with logic, diplomacy, and conviction, when a request would dilute strategy or reduce the likelihood of success.
  • Surface recurring themes, unmet partner needs, and strategic gaps that should inform future offers, templates, and solution development.

The Art of This Role

Some of the most valuable work in this role happens before a single slide is built. Often, a partner or an SVP knows in their gut that something is right, or that something is off, but hasn’t yet been able to put language to it. This role is part strategist and part diagnostician: skilled at asking the right questions, examining the available evidence, and bringing together the business context, client perspective, and internal expertise needed to understand the real opportunity.

The work is to move from instinct to clarity, from clarity to a sound recommendation, and from recommendation to action. Done well, this person becomes a trusted thinking partner, someone people seek out when they need help turning instinct into strategy.

What Makes Someone Great in This Role

This person is:

  • Highly strategic, but also highly practical
  • Client-centered, with a strong understanding of partner needs and end-user value
  • Data-informed and skilled at turning information into judgment and action
  • Creative, without being attached to their own ideas
  • Fast-moving, without sacrificing quality or attention to detail
  • Independent, but deeply collaborative
  • Confident, but not performative
  • Comfortable being client-facing and representing ideas with credibility and warmth
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, complexity, and senior stakeholder visibility
  • Strong at pattern recognition, synthesis, and recommendation development
  • Able to make complex strategy clear, concise, and persuasive
  • Able to move between big-picture thinking and detailed execution without losing momentum
  • Willing to challenge assumptions, redirect conversations, and push for a stronger path when needed
  • Energized by growth, innovation, quality, and building something new
  • Excited by AI as a coworker worth investing in, not just a way to work faster, but a teammate to develop into tools and assistants that make the whole team more effective

Skills and Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in client strategy, integrated marketing, commercial strategy, solutions, sales enablement, account strategy, or related client-facing roles
  • Significant experience supporting complex, high-value accounts in healthcare, pharma, media, digital marketing, technology, or other solutions-based environments
  • Strong experience developing strategic recommendations, pitch narratives, and executive-level materials rooted in client objectives, business realities, and available evidence
  • Excellent communication skills, including strong presentation writing and verbal storytelling ability
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, move quickly, and manage multiple high-priority workstreams at once
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Strong commercial instincts and comfort linking client needs to revenue opportunities, packaging decisions, and growth strategy
  • Ability to interpret performance data into clear, actionable insight and recommendations
  • Confidence and maturity to push back constructively when the better business answer requires it
  • A genuine curiosity about AI and how it can elevate the way a team works

Preferred Experience

  • A strong background in pharmaceutical or media marketing, and a genuine passion for health and improving patient outcomes
  • Experience supporting executive-level pitches, innovation meetings, high-priority renewals, or custom business development efforts
  • Experience translating complex ideas, evidence, and capabilities into monetizable, market-facing recommendations or differentiated solution positioning
  • Familiarity with go-to-market strategy, field marketing, commercialization, and sales enablement ecosystems
  • Familiarity with the medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) process and healthcare advertising considerations
  • Experience helping teams improve process, create repeatable ways of working, or develop AI-enabled tools and assistants
