Director, Chief of Staff & Business Operations

US-Based | Full-Time | Reporting directly to the CEO

About Azira

Azira is on a mission to reinvent how brands use data to make smarter decisions, from where to open their next location to how they connect with customers in the real world. We blend marketing, location analytics, and strategy into a single platform, helping leading brands take action with confidence. We move fast, think boldly, and care deeply about building things that matter.

Why This Role Matters

This role blends the responsibilities of a Chief of Staff with those of a Business Operations leader.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll serve as a trusted advisor, strategic thought partner, and operational leader. You'll help connect the dots across the executive team, ensuring priorities remain aligned, decisions are executed, and the organization stays focused on what matters most.

You'll work across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, Revenue, Customer Success, Marketing, Partnerships, People, and Operations, bringing structure to complexity, improving communication, and helping teams execute more effectively.

This isn't an administrative Chief of Staff role, nor is it purely an analytics position. We're looking for someone who enjoys building operating systems, solving business problems, facilitating executive decision-making, and helping great teams perform at their best.

This role succeeds through influence rather than authority. You won't always be the formal owner of the work, but you'll often be the person ensuring the right work gets done by the right people at the right time.

What You’ll DoPartner with the CEO
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the CEO.
  • Drive strategic initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Support executive communications, Board materials, planning sessions, and company-wide priorities.
  • Help leadership stay focused on the highest-impact opportunities.
Keep the Executive Team Aligned
  • Build the operating cadence for the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Facilitate executive meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews, annual planning sessions, and leadership off-sites.
  • Ensure decisions translate into clear action plans with defined ownership and accountability.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and execution gaps before they become larger problems.
Build Business Operations
  • Develop executive dashboards and KPI frameworks that become the company's source of truth.
  • Improve visibility into revenue, profitability, customer health, operational performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead business reviews that enable faster, smarter decision-making.
  • Turn complex information into practical recommendations.
Drive Company-Wide Execution
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple organizations.
  • Improve communication and collaboration across the business.
  • Build scalable operating processes that support growth.
  • Remove friction that slows execution and help teams stay focused on the highest-impact work.

What You Bring

Your Profile

  • You bring order to complexity. You don't just keep yourself organized — you build systems that help entire organizations stay aligned and execute effectively.
  • You're proactive and relentlessly follow through. You anticipate problems before they happen and naturally create clarity where others see ambiguity.
  • You influence without authority. People trust you because you're approachable, collaborative, and genuinely invested in helping others succeed.
  • You move seamlessly between the strategic and the tactical. You're equally comfortable facilitating executive discussions, building operating processes, or rolling up your sleeves to solve whatever's in front of you.
  • You're direct and accountable. You respectfully challenge assumptions, ask difficult questions, and know that accountability isn't about authority — it's about helping teams achieve better outcomes.
  • You thrive in ambiguity. When the answer isn't apparent, you know how to operate autonomously to get to the next step.

Your Experience

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in Chief of Staff, Business Operations, Strategy, Consulting, Product Operations, Revenue Operations, Corporate Development, or similar roles.
  • Experience partnering directly with senior executives in a high-growth technology company.
  • Strong financial, operational, and analytical acumen.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills.
  • Outstanding project management and organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in SaaS, AdTech, MarTech, data, media, or marketplace businesses is a plus.

Why You’ll Love It Here
  • Competitive salary range: $175,000–$200,000
  • Full health, dental, vision, and mental wellness benefits
  • Flexible, remote-friendly work environment
  • Big opportunity, small ego, high impact
  • A mission you can feel good about, and a team that makes the work fun

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
