The Role

The Director, Brokerage Strategy reports to the VP, Brokerage Strategy and leads efforts to develop and manage growth strategy, with a specific focus on digital asset growth within Fidelity Brokerage. This role will also manage projects aligned with the business’s broader strategic priorities. The role will collaborate with key partners including brokerage group leaders, their strategy leads, Finance – as well as leaders across business units.

  • Lead or contribute to project work to develop integrated growth strategy for Fidelity Brokerage across businesses and respective products, offerings, and initiatives
  • Identify and size strategies and greenfield opportunities to meet growth goals; gathering stakeholders within brokerage and across business units to develop hypotheses. Lead collaborative efforts to define and translate strategy into execution
  • Bring outside-in thought leadership to inform strategy, articulate our positioning v. competitors’ and Fidelity’s relative areas of strength and opportunity. Inform new growth and commercialization options as well as potential challenges within competitive and consumer trends and overall market context
  • Define customer and business goals and metrics aligned with strategy, partnering with finance on scorecard and KPIs. Assess impacts of strategies, products, and initiatives to acquisition and deepening of brokerage customer relationships and business results
  • Support development of a broader multi-year plan, partnering with finance, to bring priorities together, demonstrating how sum of parts will achieve our goals
  • Develop and maintain foundational customer factbase, in partnership with Analytics, to inform strategy. Partner with Brokerage Product Strategy team to continue to elevate key strategies to drive results and strengthen articulation of strategy
  • Author compelling materials to effectively explain our strategy and present persuasively to drive the business to action
  • Support broader planning and business management responsibilities of the Strategy and Planning team during critical times, as needed

The Expertise and Skills You Have

  • 5-8+ years of management consulting or corporate strategy experience
  • MBA degree or equivalent preferred (or similar experience)
  • Top-tier strategy consulting toolkit: Strong critical thinking, structured problem solving, sophisticated analysis and business insights, and executive-level communications
  • High intellectual curiosity and analytical orientation, high aptitude for problem solving using both fact-based and hypothesis-driven approaches
  • Experience leading and contributing to an organization’s top strategic projects including defining actionable strategies to grow businesses; leveraging outside-in perspectives informed by understanding of financial services market and consumer trends
  • Innovative, forward-thinker who quickly understands the context, and effectively challenges the status quo and drives tough decisions
  • Executive communication skills and ability to craft compelling, executive level presentations
  • Strong organizational navigator and teammate who finds common ground and can drive alignment among management, colleagues, and peers using both personal interactions and written communications

The Brokerage Strategy & Planning team serves as the central catalyst for defining and driving the business’s long‑term direction. The team partners closely with senior leadership to shape strategic priorities, assess market and competitive trends, and translates enterprise objectives across our organization. Through rigorous analysis, cross‑functional alignment, and disciplined planning, the group ensures Fidelity Brokerage is positioned to capture growth opportunities and execute with clarity and focus. 

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$222,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
